The only real monoculture is pornography. It's the only part of culture that isn't entirely produced top-down, like TV is.
Before Current Year, "furries" were usually seen as freaks into bestiality.
In Clown World, it seems the stigma is shifting to those against "furries"?
This is the greatest evil of the millennial and zoomer generations (who are now old enough to have a collective generational sin).
We grew up EPI'd by the mindgeek guys, which was top-down—but then we grew up, and we're the ones who kept the spaces unsafe for kids. That's bottom-up; that's us.
Boomers and X'ers didn't know any better and don't understand the internet. Millennials and zoomers know that if there's no hard age verification, there's tons of kids as young as 11 in all of those adult spaces. So what did we do, stop posting that stuff where we knew kids were, knowing what it would do to them? Did we modify our language or behavior at all, knowing that the entire internet is essentially across the street from a playground—visible through the chain-link fence?
No. We (generationally) put up

emojis and said "Minors DNI", as though that were some kind of magical charm to ward them off. It was just to cover our own asses. Imagine setting up your

MDNI posts with poster-board outside of a middle-scool playground; that's what it all is. There was never any serious thought as to protecting the next generation, because we never allowed ourselves to think of ourselves as "the previous generation".
It's not even exclusively about pornography; it's about the total failure to think of oneself as having to be mindful of the example one sets to the omnipresent middle-schooler. It's about the implicit dissolution of the boundary between adult and child, tacitly and passively co-signed by two generations of adults.
We whine about boomers, but the world is ours now in a real way. We're grown men—men aren't the blind product of historical forces; we have will. We created the environment that these hypergroomed neophytes had to navigate, and it's all because we as a collective held onto the infantile idea that we should be able to behave however we want whenever we want—especially sexually, because it's something our "boomer pastors and parents" tried to "unfairly keep" from us.
That's the reality and real cause of "current year": it's the bottom-up failure of the millennial and zoomer generations to create the kind of society where furries would even be considered odd. To create the bridge to adulthood that boomer and X'er parents were too out-of-touch to provide. To grow up.
We left the door open to Hell.
