Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

It's not really a tornado though. More like a "Fire Dust Devil"
Look, I tried to popularize Nope Rope of Fire, but nobody bit.
where we could drive these Max Max'ish home made Stump Jumpers into the woods with 700 gallon tanks to get water everywhere
I remember the first time I saw gopro footage of a Pine Barrens brush truck. The guys in the back manning the lines were wearing full face motorcycle helmets. Wild shit.

These guys aren't quite as crazy, but the driver would still rather drive over a tree than do a 5 point turn around one.
just watched a calfire dozer get surrounded by hellflames, its hard stuff time
Did they actually lose one? A dozer drove out in the river on the Fox11 stream.

Well, that and those who lose nothing but have a chance to gain quite a lot.

Pretend you're a foreigner with a shitload of money and connections. You hate Americans, you only value power and you have no problem spilling blood to get what you want. So one day you find out that the US borders are completely open, guards aren't giving a single shit about stopping people from hopping the border. And what luck, one of the places right past the border is highly populated with foreigners from all over and the authorities in charge are either lazy, incompetent or only answer to money. The area is willing to sell land to foreign investors and shit, it's right near the ports too! The only thing stopping you from buying a bunch of property is that it's already been claimed and shit's retarded expensive. So you hire a crew of motherfuckers to go hop the border and wait for the right moment to give them a signal to go torch some shit, specifically in nice areas populated by locals. Once a couple of blocks are gone, now all of that real estate is up for sale for pennies on the dollar. The city takes the blame for everything and becomes so desperate for funding that they'll let you buy as much as you can afford, at that point the only ones who will get in your way are other foreigners that are thinking the same thing, unless it becomes a group effort.

I know this sounds schizo as fuck, but I remember when Xi visited San Fransisco that one year and Newsom acted FAST to get the city cleaned up for Xi's arrival so well that it was hardly recognizable with how pleasant it looked. He made that happen over the weekend, it's not like he's unable to get things handled. But with LA, he pretty much let it go to shit. There has to be SOME reason.
So, spics that don't have anything and they purposely start fires around that shithole state. Then they learn that the normie get 770 dollars from this tragedy, and the retarded spics don't even get that because they can't prove they're native? Jesus spics are massively dumb.

I used to drive a bastard that looked just like that. 1955 GI deuce n a half. really funky transmission. An airplanes turn n bank artificial horizon bolted onto the dash. Rule was whatever you do, do not put your thumbs inside the steering wheel.

And yeah. You use those in Pine Barrens. Softwood trees. Its safer and easier jut to drive over the trees. Or more commonly drive right through the trees.

An airplanes turn n bank artificial horizon bolted onto the dash.
That's funny it wasn't a normal slope meter, but those artificial horizons were probably stripped out of old airplanes for free or something
Rule was whatever you do, do not put your thumbs inside the steering wheel.
That's one of those life lessons you either learn the easy way or the hard way.

What the fuck? The house is just gone, like it never was. The bushes and trees are charred, which makes sense, but how the fuck is the lawn still green? It's almost like someone took one of those modern AI photo editing programs and clicked "erase" on the house, but in real life.

I recently learned that at least two of the houses Patrisse Cullors (head of BLM) bought with donations were among the properties that burned to the ground.

.....I have nothing witty to say about it; it is what it is.
That feels...just. Back when the Floyd riots and BLM were in full swing, most of the people I talked to who were expressing support for BLM genuinely thought that police had a racism problem and were targeting black communities punitively, holding the black community to an unfair standard that they wouldn't hold any other race. Most supporters I talked to thought BLM protests were justified and that BLM was going to make things better for black people.

A large fraction of the donations that BLM got were donations made in good faith, in hopes that they would be spent on improving things for black communities. What does this negress do with those donations? Buy mansions in LA, turning her back on those black communities wanting something better than constantly being beaten down by cops for crime.

It feels just that her ill-gotten luxuries purchased with misappropriated funds have been lost.

Had I the power to snap my fingers and restore the homes of decent people who didn't deserve to lose everything, and leave destroyed the homes of bad people, hers would number amongst the latter.

Israeli space lasers and smart meters.

Just kidding. Combination of wind-driven fire and nobody putting out the fire while it's happening. Normally when you see a burnt building, the structure remains because firefighters showed up and started fighting the fire probably less than 30 minutes after ignition. This is what houses look like when you light them on fire and basically just walk away. And your average house in North America is primarily timber frame construction, so everything just burns away in high wind conditions. The fire spread so quickly that firefighters couldn't go around to individual homes to put them out, so this is what the neighbourhoods look like after the fact.

The lawn/plants and shit being alive and unburnt after the fire seems counterintuitive, but living green grass and shrubbery is a lot less prone to burning than the bone dry materials constituting a modern home. Because they're watered by homeowners and shit, they're kept green and healthy, and green plants that are chock full of moisture have a real hard time catching on fire even when they're bombarded by embers. Meanwhile, asphalt shingles, plywood, wood rafters, plastic lawn furniture, carpet, mulch, loose paper, or really just any fucking random dry crap lying around outside or inside a home can start the initial fire, and then it just spreads from there.

I feel bad for people who lost their homes, but I do hate the state of California in general. This disaster is more or less a result of the politicians in the area running a political machine that’s been perfected since the 90’s and thus allowed them to be retards.

It’s like the Maui fire or Hurricane Katrina where sheer fucking incompetence made an issue worse.

North Carolina and other states impacted by Helene had both a once in a century storm that has diverted rivers and a fumbled government reaction. The response also was malicious by the government as we literally have it in record they told people to avoid certain houses and their is still bullshit going on with buying property.

This is still going on and is a comedy of errors. That’s why I’ll laugh, it’s absurd. It’s just fucking absurd. This should never have gone on for like a week and a half and been as bad as it’s been.

Israeli space lasers and smart meters.
I knew Israeli military industry prides themselves on quality and precision, but goddamn, I get it now. Now I understand why Marjorie Taylor Greene spergs about the Israeli space lasers. America needs space lasers that precise: ones that can just erase a building from the earth, using nothing more than its smart meter as a targeting beacon -- all while leaving the surrounding vegetation unharmed. We're gonna need them to shoot down the Chinese hypersonic missiles when tensions with China finally turn into a hot war.

the answer to all of these questions is “yes”

anyways, on topic, the winds are looking weird again. Lots and lots of patches where winds change direction or just don’t exist.
I am once again getting nonstop parsing response errors so here’s a link for the curious.
EDIT: nevermind apparently it went through but only decided to show up after posting, thanks internet

People keep talking about La Niña winds picking up and making things worse… but people were saying that’d happen over the weekend, and it sort of didn’t. Now people are saying it will happen later this week. Am I missing something again? What’s the deal with these constant promises of higher-speed winds that never materialize?
Just my opinion, but panic. Wind is unpredictable and the main cause of why the fires are as devastating as they are. If the plan now is to wait the fires out, the wind will break that plan.

are they wrong?
That's like saying Mexico looks like El Tigre.
September 16th celebrates Mexico's independence.
October 2nd commemorates the Tlatelolco Massacre.
Halloween-Day of the Dead marathon.
November 20th celebrates Mexico's revolution.
And you close the year with Guadalupe-Reyes, the mega holiday cluster. December 12th, Our Lady of Guadalupe-Christmas-New Year's- January 6th, Epiphany.
Are you really asking that in this thread?

how the fuck is the lawn still green?
Green grass is exceedingly hard to burn. Even the radiant heat from a house burning down won't bother healthy grass as long as it has enough water for ET

The National Weather Service has issued a PDS(Particularly Dangerous Situation) Red Flag Warning starting 4am local time.

NWS does not fuck around when issuing PDS warnings of any type. For them to issue a PDS tornado warning, they have to be almost certain an EF4+ is on the ground and posing a significant risk to life. This is that but with fire.

I think the first fires were an accident. I think people who lost their homes and now have nothing to lose are going to light a few of these rich people neighborhoods up because they feel like the class system, the state, that Life is unfair and they want to even the score a little.

Mexican cartels kill and whore migrants for fun. Mexicans use Indio as a slur unless they want to monetize their disenfranchised indigenous groups.
Mexicans started making gangs when they got to LA in the 20s, so everyone had to play catch-up.
Yeah, a lot of the early cartels like Sinaloa and Gulf were founded by northern criollo rednecks and basically relied on recruiting and/or exploiting southerners. Of course, by now those southerners have largely said "fuck it" and started their own narco gangs. Norteños being white doesn't really amount to much considering a lot of them tend to act like wiggers/white trash, from their generally decayed state from a previously idyllic past sometime half a century ago, to their noisiness and all around brutish nature, all the way down to their misplaced pride in polities that most civilized people would rather die than live in, but you'd still rather be in their part of the country than that of their swarthier cousins.
Honestly, seeing Sheinbaum (why they even picked this bitch?) send firefighters to LA feels like John Redcorn deciding he gives a fuck about Joseph ngl.
Honestly? She was an inevitable consequence of the policies people like AMLO were pushing. Stuff like the gender parity regulations for political parties and the general policy of uniting the left against PAN as they both devour PRI's corpse was the perfect environment for a white jew to come in and weasel her way into power. Sheinbaum is a (passing) white, female New Left counterweight to AMLO's Old Left, southern mestizo roots. It was a way of getting the sort of people who tag up the Angel of Independence with troon slogans to vote MORENA, and it worked. The gender laws are the reason a woman was even picked in the first place, while the political climate was the reason Sheinbaum in particular was chosen. She's not just any random Jewish immigrant, either: both her parents were also leftist "activists", and she was one of the early founders of the PRD's student wing.

I rarely, if ever, recommend that you watch or read anything that I post. This is one of those rare occasions where I am going to insist that you take the time to listen to this:
LA Times owner Patrick Soon-Shiong speaking on the situation, full interview, followed by some clips:
https://youtu.be/QpolCpYGvw0?t=328
I don't have the brainpower at the moment to summarize everything that was discussed, but it ranged from the current fires and rebuilding efforts to problems going back years when trying to deal with the CA government. He also goes into FDA regulations, health insurance, and cancer treatments which was mind blowing (he's an accomplished transplant surgeon and involved in cancer medicine). My default is to not trust him because he is a billionaire, but it was a breath of fresh air to hear a man of his stature speak after all of the bullshit that's been coming from the officials in California. Highly recommended, especially if you've been feeling a bit blackpilled lately.

edit: To be clear, he's a businessman and he's selling certain ideas that I don't agree with, but there's a lot to be gleaned about the mood among that level of billionaires and how utterly disgusted they are with what they got from Newsom and Biden.

I am eager to see if those conditions Mike Johnson proposed to the aid being sent to California will be purely related to preventative measures or if they will contain bullshit political agendas to "fix" Californian politics that have nothing to do with the fires. I woud not be surprised it it's the latter, but we shall see.
There are already people saying Canada and Mexico do more for the ftate than the feds and think about splitting away from the US. It will be interesting to see if that thought gains momentum with California being the right wing punching bag.
