Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

And it ties up a ton of apparatus in a situation where they can easily be lost if the wind changes. It's not a good option. And they sure as hell cannot viably pump seawater fifty or a hundred miles inland for the Eaton fire. Other than the Super Scoopers, if the fire is not within reasonable sight of the sea, using seawater just is not viable.
This is the same state that was demanding a pipeline for water from the Great Lakes not that many years ago because they can't be bothered to turn on the desalination plants they already have. It's a six million IQ state.

𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Palisades’ Alphabet Streets Reduced to Rubble and Ruin

That's 1.5 hours of footage. I followed along on Streetview to get a full picture of the destruction - for added doom, you'll notice that a lot of the streets were photographed by Google in December, so houses were decorated for Christmas.

More footage on that channel. Like they're saying in the comments, much better footage than anything we've seen from news media channels.
It really does highlight the utter destruction when you follow on Streetview

There's also the issue of everything you spray that seawater on being immediately destroyed. At least with freshwater there's a chance of drying some stuff out. Not seawater.

[EDIT: Whoever rated that dumb has never seen what saltwater does to a PCB]
Dis nigga has never seen what fire does to anything.

Most water used in Los Angeles does not come from Northern California but from local aqueducts and groundwater.

I'm getting mighty sick of this absolute lie and I'm very close to posting a long spergout about it.

In short, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California has 19 million customers who use about 1.5 million acre feet of water annually. MWD gets 2 million acre feet from the State Water Project, which sends water from NorCal to SoCal, and 1.3 million acre feet from the Colorado River Aqueduct. It has no water of its own and relies entirely on the importation of water from outside sources.

It's literally on MWD's website in a cutesy graphic!

I see the sacred cow of DEI is living rent free in the heads here. To all the fine white folk here. Why aren't you fighting wildfires?

Because that requires a person too think about others more than themselves.
When you’re trapped in a burning building enjoy some fatass dyke telling you “guess you got yourself in the wrong situation” when your expectation is for them to lift you out of the scenario. You’re really owning the chuds here bud

Also those white people you’re whining about are the only group of people who are net tax payers and also have destroyed their own cultures, countries, and people out of a misplaced sense of obligation to those, like you, in the out group. The only reason you’re here whining about white people is cause white peoples were kind enough to destroy their future for you. So sit back and say “thank you whitey” instead of whatever nonsense you’re going on about, mmmk?

If my financial situation were more stable I'd move up to rural WA. I'd have to deal with the rain and the pain-in-the-ass that is traveling to big-box retail areas.
You could look into Nevada, particularly north. Cali is close and it's very nice.

Why aren't you for 2k a day? I mean I would if I had the experience you claim to have.

So now they also have incarcerated firefighters.

Surely nothing could go wrong here.
5$ an hour wage? lets not forget they are also lodged and fed and they are working those hours to pay off their debt to society. Take your commissary money, work off your debt and stfu. All incarcerated criminal should basically owe back the money spent on them.

"over 40 MPH is the issue"
"With the gusts, Aircraft are limited"
"drop Accuracy"
"as with the safety component Usually the limiting factor is over 30 MPH gusts"
"Sustained winds... anything over 40... is gonna ground most aircraft"
"The gusts are generally the issue"

I'm sure more mediocre white men running around with hoses would have stopped the fires and not NOT DESTROYING THE DAMN CLIMATE CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Global warming has been a known issue since the 1990s. Los Angeles had literally thirty years to prepare for this event. Instead, they cut the FD's budget, decided not to build any new firefighting infrastructure, put an incompetent dyke in charge for diversity points, sent their firefighting equipment to a foreign country, and redirected a bazillion gallons of fresh water into the ocean instead of reservoirs.

You know, right-wing doomers actually prep for doomsday. All lefty doomers do is sit around and cry that nobody will buy enough electric cars to magically change the climate.

They have to give them something so it’s not considered cruel and unusual slave labor, these are all volunteer inmates so it’s not like dindoos that have no interest are doing it.
Having inmates do it over random citizens is a great idea.

I'm mostly considering northwestern WA because I still have connections in that area and I'm used to the weather. I also have family members up in Vancouver, B.C. I can crash with for a few millennia if the political infighting here in the US gets exponentially worse.
