General Wrestling Discussion

-Pentas Debut was absolute dimes, I couldnt have booked it better myself
-Hopefully Gable can eventually find his way to the main event scene, their not treating him as big of a deal as they should at the moment if im being perfectly honest
-Sheamus should win the IC title, the Grand Slam pursuit is a good story and I dont think Bron losing one match will affect his trajectory at all as a main event star in the next few years
-why is Nia in a segment with Rhea Ripley, Nia is straight-up Coal, one of my few nitpicks of the show, Rhea needs a real challenger not Nia Snax
-Love the Gunthmeister, Jey makes sense as a challenger hes over as fuck and the kids love em, Gunther will probably go into Mania as World Champion if i had to guess
-they are building the rumble brilliantly this year, its unpredictable as it should be, I still think Punk is winning but you have everyone literally at each others throats and thats how it honestly should be

The final 4 of the Royal Rumble will be Punk/Rollins/Drew/Cena with Big Match John winning. It's pretty obvious after this Mondays Raw.

Penta is another dropped ball by TK. Tossed him to the side and put him in pointless tag/trios matches for most of the past 5 years because he'd signed yet another ex-WWE guy that he simply had to showcase instead. Now WWE are reaping the benefits of the low key built up popularity he has garnered from being on US tv so often. The audience last night knew exactly who he was and were pumped as fuck to see him perform.

I don't know if it was a personal thing or if Tony only initially signed him because someone backstage convinced him to but when Omega decides that his first big match in the US at the first All In should be against Penta then maybe you should take the hint that this guy is sort of a big deal.

It's been explained well before that part of Tony Khan's booking style is "Remember this great feud from 8+ years ago? Let's do it again but this time but worse."

Balor should have won.
Dakota Kai should have won.

Priest and Valkyria are charisma vacuums.
They were both make-a-sandwich matches for me. A generic forgettable girls' match, and the leftovers from all the goth factions from the past two years. Though I will say it was nice to see an honest attempt at a stretcher angle.

Thank you Tony for being a spiteful little bitch and holding Rey back so they were forced to give us a short Penta arm breaker run.

With them on Netflix now and having mentioned lucha underground hopefully they let him run back one of his old intergender matches. His match with Chelsea Green just started making the rounds on twitter again.

Doing intergenders would be a complete 180° from the current booking philosophy. I have never encountered anyone outside of terminal IWC smarks who actually likes them, it runs counter to the growing mainstream audience they're courting. The day WWE books big new stars for intergender horseshit would be the point where you start checking HHH's brain for an AEW mindcontrol chip.

seriously I really never fantasy booked anything beyond OH MY THE BROTHERS OF LUCHADORING IN THE RAW ZONE and then they fart around in the midcard tags for the duration of their contracts doing somehow less than AEW
the idea we even got A match on Raw of Penta solo was more than I realistically expected

I genuinely dislike Pat on commentary and WWE's obsession with him only makes sense if you are an American I guess? From an international perspective, he's the kid who demanded it's his turn on the Xbox.
Dad Cracker called me a few days ago and asked if I knew a wrestler named Pat Mcafee that showed up on his football show, the guy kept talking about wrestling and was so annoying that Dad Cracker bailed on watching the segment because he couldn’t stand his voice.

Told him that Pat is not a wrestler but we get stuck with him as commentator, and that yes he’s famously annoying and I can’t stand him either.

Pat has random boomers trying to watch college football irritated and changing the channel, makes me feel like wrestling fans aren’t unreasonable in their dislike of him.

I am late, but just watched RAW. Awwwwgh yeah, our boy Penta. you could see how fucking pumped he was. Loved that he want for a topa suicida within the first 2 minutes, Gable was not having that shit.

Speaking of which, I think Gable did a great job with Penta. Wouldn't mind watching them go at it again. Fucking Penta still pulling off a leg drop after botching on the ropes. beautiful. Getting all sentimental.

Audio was much better this show, not that it was too distracting on the premier. Cero Meido
