The report brings to an end a chapter in American history that saw, for the first time, a former president indicted on federal charges only to go on and be re-elected and, in a few days, returned to power.

This stuff is so stupid to me, completely counterproductive even if you put yourself in the Ds shoes. The long term institutional damage this does to the country is going to be catastrophic.

I guess who cares what happens after they’re out of power right? Complete myopia.

Speaking of weed, been seeing some people turn against it lately.

I enjoy weed, and I was living in Canada when it got legalized. But yeah, it just meant a ton of losers walking around smoking weed in public and being insufferably smug about it. And even in the small town I lived in, dispensaries popped up everywhere while I quickly discovered it was cheaper and better to buy online. I felt bad for these dispensaries because there were a ton of them competing in a small town and it always seemed like they barely got any business.

I also went on holiday in Thailand and it was the exact same thing. Lots of complete dickheads doing it in public and annoying everyone, and a ton of dispensaries that seemed to be desperate for business. Probably doing better than those in Canada tbf, but I heard the Thai's just outlawed it again because they were pissed about how it was going

Eh, while I ultimately don’t think weed is a huge deal in a vacuum, it’s good that people are starting to turn the corner on it a bit.

In my experience, the problem with weed is less directly how it affects some people, and more so that people who like it act like it’s completely harmless and never a bad thing. They neither respect, nor even treat THC like it’s an actual drug. The vast majority of people I know use it, and I’d say about half of them should cut back or outright quit; but God forbid you say anything, then people act like you’re being a puritanical old person for suggesting they don’t get high basically every single day.

It’s a really destructive (and fucking annoying) pattern I’ve noticed over the past few years; where everyone’s like “Erm, ackshually my vices aren’t vices because they don’t have physical withdrawals, or they’re prescribed to me. So even though I’m stoned 24/7, take SSRIs and/or prescription amphetamines, and can’t function without a constant stream of entertainment, socializing and sex/porn, I’m perfectly sane, healthy and infinitely smarter than people who drink on the weekend.”

Biden tried forcing Netanyahu to accept a multitude of plans and Bibi said no. Trump got it done before he even took office. There's something to be said for Trump's dealmaking abilities. Hopefully, this plan works and the muzzies quit fucking around.
Trump has the stick of 'fuck around and I will fucking drone strike your military leaders' to point to

This is the biggest thing. Alcoholics are laughed out the door for saying drinking doesn't impact their focus while people hooked on weed constantly say weed doesn't impair them at all.

It also causes lung cancer if smoked. Cigarettes are bad because of inhaling burning plant matter, not because of nicotine.

First questions at Hegseth's hearing are about "we're more lethal because we're more diverse" and Hegseth should have just said "more lethal because trannies be killing themselves, fr fr no cap."

Nicotine causes arteriosclerosis and blood clots later in life. A family member of mine was killed by a leg blood clot ultimately caused by a lifetime of cigarettes.

Of all the vices I left behind, I have the fondest memories of nicotine. Not enough to take it up again, but I feel like it really did enhance mental functioning.

Everything is a trade off though, and now that I am getting older I’m glad I don’t have to deal with alcohol and tobacco- partly for money reasons, and partly because I am entering the phase of life where your lifestyle debts start coming due.

Cigarettes are fucking evil and killed my Grandpa. Gave him fucking cancer. None of it is good and your death will be painful if you get hooked.

Overall I think legalization has been a small net positive. The people getting psychosis from it should have never touched it in the first place. Its not harmless but its better than opioids or cocaine.
I can't believe that people didn't expect that it would be smoked in public though. What did they think would happen? The loudest pro-weed people made it their whole personality.
