Acclaimed author Neil Gaiman is facing multiple allegations of sexual assault, making him the subject of a police complaint in New Zealand. Gaiman has offered a response as well, refuting the accusations.

Per Tortoise Media, two women have accused Gaiman of sexual assault while in consensual relationships with the author. The allegations go back two decades, but they were first reported on in Tortoise's podcast Master: the allegations against Neil Gaiman, which was released on Wednesday. The women describe allegations of "rough and degrading sex," alleging that these instances were not always consensual.

One of the two accusers, a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett, claims she was sexually assaulted in February 2022 just hours after first meeting Gaiman. According to Scarlett, the assault happened in a bath at Gaiman's New Zealand home where she was hired to work as a nanny for his child. Gaiman says that the two merely "cuddled" and "made out" that day, adding that a three-week sexual relationship ensued, but was entirely consensual. Scarlett insists that Gaiman was "rough and degrading," and reportedly, messages, notes, and accounts from friends support her allegations.

Another accuser, identifying herself as K, says she was an 18-year-old fan when she first met Gaiman at a book signing in Sarasota, Florida, in 2003. K claims that she began a romantic relationship with Gaiman after she turned 20, resulting in engaging in rough sex that she "neither wanted nor enjoyed." It's alleged that one particular incident saw Gaimain forcefully penetrating K despite her objections.

Gaiman has denied this claim as well. The Sandman author maintains that his relationship with K was never unlawful and that he's "disturbed" to be accused of such behavior. According to Gaiman, K's allegations stem from "regret" over the relationship she had when it was over. He also attributed Scarlett's allegations to a condition she has that's associated with false memories, but the Tortoise report noted that this isn't supported by the accuser's medical records.

Additionally, Gaiman has strongly denied all allegations of non-consensual sex at any time with the women accusing him of sexual assault. He also claimed that New Zealand police ignored his offer for assistance with one woman's complaint in 2022, suggesting that shows a lack of substance in the investigation. New Zealand officers have responded by saying they made a "number of attempts to speak to key people as part of this investigation and those efforts remain ongoing." It was added that there are "a number of factors to take into consideration with this case, including location of all parties.”

Gaiman has long been one of pop culture's most revered authors, bringing to life acclaimed stories like The Sandman, Good Omens, and American Gods. Just recently, Netflix has been promoting the upcoming second season of The Sandman, which is based on Gaiman's source material; he also executive produces the series.

Honestly while Gaiman was not on the top of my "insufferable and terminally overhyped geek culture retards I cant wait to get outed as sex predators for my own amusement" list (currently being topped by Wil Wheaton followed by Alan Moore) I cannot deny feeling that little bit jollier with the thought I may never have to hear him mentioned again

For those who think he has been framed, think again: more than 8 women have come forward. He could have ran into one nutcase but eight? No
Also in this blog he doesn't even deny those horrible, sickening acts took place, the shit, the choking, his child present.... he just said it was consensual. That's enough in my book, lock him up!

I may not care for his writing but an author is well-trained to write a humble, remorseful statement with nothing behind it. Doesn’t matter—if you pursue unstable women and are into bdsm I still don’t like you whether it was consensual or not.

Imagine using unhinged lunatic Amanda Palmer as your yardstick for how women act. It’s like how some people talk about NAL.
Ya know I hate to steal I point I saw while browsing for funni reactions from the r/fauxmoi shaniquas, but both Gaiman and Palmer are rich as fuck. They could have hired actual professional nannies and then just hire a hooker or ten of some variety when they wanted their allegedly consensual BDSM play.

Gaiman chose instead to string on a series of mentally unsound teen girls for little or no pay while using them as intentionally painful and degrading fucktoys even if you assume he is 100% telling the truth in his response.

"I did nothing wrong but I'm going to learn and grow from my mistakes which I didn't make". Could he have gone with a lazier apology? This shit is so cookiecutter it hurts. I feel like I've read this exact apology so many times before.
Its a shame devin faraci never took off as a cow. One of the loudest and most autistically obnoxious male feminist tryhards on twitter and deeply connected with a bunch of movie people like Rian Johnson and others got outed as a rapist just before #MeToo took off and his entire career was torched overnight and he had a delicious mental breakdown into becoming a born again buddhist who babbled about how he was now a redeemed sinner in his blog for a couple years. Not sure what he is doing these days but hopefully sucking dick for quarters in a truck stop shit stall

“I’m in an open relationship and my wife found you just so I can have sex with you” tends to weed out normal women and just leave the BPD ones in fairness.

This guy was the literal icon for close to every single BPD Tumblrina out there at one time. If they were brain damaged, he was always their particular guy. It was like a rule back then. If he desired it and had no sense, he would have been able to stick himself into an endless stream of crazy. And he probably did.

At his peak around 2011, he could have run into 200 or 300 nutcases easy. Go take a look at Warren Ellis who had a whole harem of crazy at one time.

Now I don''t think he was framed. But do not underestimate the ocean of crazy that a guy like him could swim in.

So after Ellis and Gaiman, who's next on the chopping block, Ennis, Moore or someone else?
I would be so fucking happy if its Moore, and honestly he fits the profile pretty spot on given the weird sexual degenerate shit he has been bathing himself in since the 70s.

Ennis....like I really fucking despise his work for so many fucking reasons and have been Linkara level autistic about it on many occasions here on the farms but I just don't feel like he is one. Maybe its a case of it being too obvious for the most rape obsessed man in comics to actually be a rapist, maybe he is just the kind of guy who is content to just jack off over his own spank fics when they get illustrated, but I would actually be kinda surpised if he was outed as such.

Morrison would be my guess. One does not go they/them or create Danny the Street without something hidden away.

Maybe Byrne, just because he seems to be involved in stories where young teen girls develop crushes on young adult men (Kitty and Colossus, flashbacks to Reed's college days and Sue, and what's-their-names from Danger Unlimited).
Gonna be real if we are all wrong and its Gail Simone I would actually die laughing

Ennis, for all his disgusting fiction comes across as a normal person in real life, and Moore is an ugly old hermit that takes eccentricity so far beyond what could possibly be conceived as charming that he comes across like schizo homeless person that you expect to suddenly start yelling incoherent babble at streetlamps while pissing his pants. No idea who is next on the pillory. Just look towards those who are overly engaged with their fanbase.

Why does Ennis inspire so much contempt? I just read him as a action horror guy etc.

I was wondering when Gaiman would break his self-imposed social media exile, I guess things got ugly enough that he had to say something. It must have been hell for someone as terminally online as him; he hadn't been offline for more than a week since being online was invented. He must have been sweating bullets and seeing babies crawl on the ceiling from the asspat withdrawal.
For all his talk about "spending months taking a long, hard look at who I have been and how I have made people feel" he seems to have learned absolutely nothing and he's trying to pull off the classic combination of "I'm sorry you feel this way" with "I'm trying to learn and do better", which if he had been paying attention, he would know that has a 0% success chance on getting out of this with clean hands. He's also focusing too much on the consensual/non-consensual side of things that, while important, is so 2015.

I don't think he has too much to fear legally, or about his career in the long term, but no matter what happens next, his days of Uncle Neil interacting with his adoring internet audience, dispensing self-important current-year-approved diatribes all day, every day, and reaping asspats in return are over. And that's what I feel will really affect him. The man was one of the biggest e-dopamine fiends around, and now he won't get away with his approachable wise celebrity persona without people bringing this up and raining on his parade. The only thing the audience he has been cultivating for decades loves more than an idol to look up to is a corpse to cannibalize.

My personal hopes would be on Tom King and Bendis.

Given how psychologically messed up Tom King shows himself to be in his writing, his male feminism and his "mommy/wife" obsessions, I could see a whole lot of really dark stuff emerge there.
