The only reason there wasn’t a cordial, productive relationship in the past was Ralph being angry, vindictive, retard.

For whatever reason Faith had always been far more cooperative and flexible than necessary to let Gunt visit Xander.

Once Ralph realized May was 100% done, and he was forever blocked, he started being very “cordial” with Faith. He’s been singing her praises for awhile. Ralph is waiting for any sign she might take him back. I’m sure he’s told her he proposed to the wrong woman a dozen times by now.
