YouTube Autism - Things that are worth laughing at but not worth a full thread.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Following up on the Marcel Voss trophy thing because I found out something funny. The "xxartists.com" domain is owned by a company of the same name, that has nothing to do with Youtube. In fact, part of the company XXArtists used to go by the name .Monks before a merger, .Monks was a marketing company founded in The Netherlands, where Marcel Voss is from. The original Tweet from Youtube creators is real, but there's no telling if the actual correspondence via DM is as well. This shit stinks. Even being charitable, he got tricked by someone pretending to be Youtube, which makes him a retard. Literally the thing every single site tells you is to not answer DMs from people claiming to be from the company especially if they try to get you to answer an email or go to a site that is blatantly not affiliated with the site.

Also another tangential thing about Marcel Voss. I found his wikipedia page and like with most Youtuber Wikipedia articles, I looked at the history to see who made it. It turns out it was made by a certain "Garuda3" That claims to be a contributor to Coasterpedia and has made many edits on Wikipedia regarding rollercoasters. Which also just so happens to be the same niche interest as Marcel Voss. This may be jumping to conclusions, but I think this dude may have written his own Wikipedia article. Which is always pretty fucking sad.

Apparently the Goku American VA is sperging out about people doing impressions of him, accusing this youtuber of using AI and "stealing" his voice.
If this kind of behavior continues, which he has a history of, Sean Schemmel might be thread worthy. I hate DBZ so I couldn't be arsed to do any research on this guy, but if you're a DBZ autist this could be something to look into.

These kind of people are so annoying. You were a person paid to do a role. You do no own the voice lines, the character, the show, the manga, or anything else. None of it is yours to act possessive over. If you think someone is violating the IP rights of Toei Animation of whoever, I guess you can send them a letter to let them know. Otherwise, shut up. You have no authority over anyone's parody and for that matter, parody isn't a copyright violation either.

I think Sean also refused to attend a convention because another Goku VA was attending. That VA might have been Kirby Morrow I don't really remember.

Its almost as if Sean's identity is wrapped up in voicing Goku. So strange.

People on the DBZ subreddit talking about Sean. Of course, in typical reddit fashion, the guy whose giving the most common sense, level headed take is downvoted to oblivion.

Does Sean have any other claim to fame besides being the original American dub voice for Goku? That's the only way his behavior can make any kind of sense, and even then he seems like a complete turbosperg.

So it would seem that Honey, one of the OG sponsors, is nothing short of a massive scam.

EDIT: Watched the entire video, and man Mega is really good at presenting on how Honey scammed both the consumer and the influencers that promote Honey. And judging by the preview for Part 2, it seems that Honey has also been scamming retailers big time.

PreserveTube

Not Part 2, per say, but some YTer named Scott Carney delved deep into an aspect of the Honey Situation that wasn't discussed before: The VC firm that funded Honey in the first place, Anthos Capital.

Judging by the guy's content, it seems he has major beef with Venture Capital as a whole, which, considering the fucking hellscape that is the internet today, I really can't blame him.

Anyways, wanted to check the Inc article Carney highlighted that discussed, and, well, there's some red flags to be sure.
The furor over Anthos Capital started with a solitary post, just like innumerable internet pile-ons that came before it.

Last Thursday, Siqi Chen, a longtime tech executive and angel investor, shared an anecdote on X that flies in the face of convention in respect to founders, their investors and keeping scuttlebutt under wraps.

He wrote: “had a vc pull a term sheet on a portfolio company at the last minute, when they were on their last month of runway, for basically no reason 2 years ago.” The post continued: “same company is exploding in revenue now, and just raised a $30M series b…anyway i hope he saw this.”

Eyes lit up and replies poured in. One account urged Chen to “name and shame” the culprit of the alleged misdeed. “fuck it…it was anthos capital,” Chen wrote.

Other founders swooped into Chen’s inbox to relay similar experiences with Anthos Capital, and Chen–who didn’t respond to an Inc. request for comment–shared their messages while protecting their anonymity.

The founders also accused the Santa Monica-based Anthos Capital of doing the unforgivable: Backing out of a major capital infusion right before the finish line, as startups were angling for VC gold. The accusers offered no proof, but observers say that deals get pulled more often than people outside the boardroom might realize.

“That type of stuff happens…more often than we know. And I guess a lot of times people don’t talk about it, because they want to stay in the good graces with potential investors,” Matei Psatta, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Blindspot, a platform for digital billboard creation, tells Inc.

It happened to Psatta’s company with a different investor six years ago, when Blindspot was on the hunt for seed funding, he says. “We actually had a signed shareholder agreement and everything, and they pulled out at the last second. Mostly from what we can figure out, it was a capital thing for them–they just ran out of capital at some point.”

Investors backing out at the last minute was more common during the peak froth of 2021, Psatta says, when everyone in tech was courting capital amid an historic gold rush. “When things came back to normal, a lot of people kind of found themselves in a situation where they couldn’t honor their commitments,” he explains.

Ripping up a term sheet doesn’t necessarily have any legal value, as they are generally a strong signal of intent rather than a guarantee. But blasting a VC on social media can have serious repercussions, Psatta says. Namely, burning bridges.

Still, that doesn’t mean people will shy away if they feel speaking out is justified. Many VCs flooded Chen’s mentions, some of whom lauded his courage, while others accused Anthos Capital of doing the same thing to their portfolio companies. Not all replies were the same: Ryan Hudson, founder of e-commerce platform Honey, stressed the good experiences he had working with the investor.

Anthos Capital didn’t respond to an Inc request for comment.

For his part, Psatta says Blindspot was okay after its seed funding deal fell through. “We basically put all our angry feelings aside for a while and just focused,” he says. Staying lean and not growing too quickly was key in the absence of the money. “We just focused on whatever was the low hanging fruit, but we’re pretty lucky” to not have suffered more drastically as a result of the collapsed deal, he says.

In all honesty I feel like the entire Dragon Ball dub cast can get their own thread as a collective. Almost all the major ones are huge pieces of shit.

I was watching MATI highlights and Josh mentioned EWU which subconciously primed me to binge bodycam footage of pedos and niggers getting arrested and that led me to find a strange exchange on a video where a pedo blatantly admits to cops that he's attracted to children (that part is relevant I promise)
schizospotted.PNG

At first I thought it was some diddler being edgy, but then I went to his Youtube channel and it is an untouched cavern of schizophrenia let me tell you.
He thinks he's a "starseed" which is some new age bullshit where they think they are an alien human hybrid that was an alien born on earth or by possessing a human body. He also thinks that Elon Musk and a "pedophile gang" watch his Tik Toks and try to fuck with him psychically, also he's obsessed with hypnosis. Apparently, the American government used hypnosis to force him to use his starsneed abilities to murder people, and that's what I've been able to gather from just clicking random videos for an hour. He has literally over 500 videos with the most popular having 55 views, so I haven't even been able to scratch the surface of this Odyssey and hope that other people are interested enough to enjoy this schizo journey with me.

I was going to link some videos to get people interested, but I implore you to just go and look at his video titles and tell me you can't find one compelling enough to watch. The fact that this is tangentially related to me watching MATI clips makes me believe this was the corn gods guiding my hand.

No what the hell this channel is or why YouTube decided to recommend it to me. It’s not entirely AI, which means someone put some amount of effort into making this. Most of the memes here are just halves or jokes or halves of hackneyed political statements. They also have a video about Star Wars memes.
