It's the reddit wholesome chungus mentality. I think for a long time he got comfortable in being in people's good graces in his hugbox / echo chamber, that he expects everything to be like that. He comes off as the type of guy that really can't handle much criticism and when the tides of public opinion changed, he just went on full lockdown mode attempting to gain narrative control.

I think there's something dangerous about heavily moderated communities like that, wherein they create a false sense of positivity, which is in effect "agree with everything I do or get banned". I don't think that's good for people, and frankly no one should be above criticism.

Last time I checked this thread Jason was making a big deal about how MMOs are super serious "Social Sandbox Games" and being a giant spiteful drama faggot was literally the whole point of such a video game. Now we gotta calm down and "it's just a video game" because he may or may not have got people perma-killed. A guild split and rivalry is totally inline with such a "social sandbox game"
