To be fair I think everyone who has had to interact with him and tolerate his egomania for fear of angering his reddit legions and troon fans is fully justified in taking a swing the moment there's a chink in his armor and that your peers indeed hate him as much as you.
That's a fair point, although I think it says more about the type of culture that these streamers have cultivated more than anything else. Its almost as if they create these pseudo-power structures, wherein those with bigger audiences are seen as above criticism, and any attempt to do so is branded as an unforgivable sin. I believe that these people just need to fucking relax and stop taking themselves so seriously, especially considering that their job is playing kid's games all day.

But then again, as we see from these threads, this type of clout / drama farming clearly gets in views, so there's a financial incentive for this type of behaviour to continue. Overall, I don't watch any of these people and hope to god I never do.

All of these little content goblins talking about this situation come off as slimy clout chasing scum. I think Thor definitely had it coming, and sperged out hard, but these people come off almost worst than him in the way they are talking about it. There's just something to off about how they talk about him now that influencers bigger than them have effectively signalled a green light to dunk on him. None of these people come off as authentic, and it seems like they're just jumping on the bandwagon to further their own careers. They all want to be top dog and the "coolest", which just comes off as incredibly cringe.

Overall, I think almost everyone involved in this situation is retarded.
See I think there are two different groups of ambulance chasers

1) People who are reacting who have game knowledge and have some type of input that could be deemed"valuable"
2) People who have little to no game knowledge and are there for the drama.

It's the Internet, you can't pick and choose which ambulance chasers picks up the story. Streamers who have a history of reacting to this stuff are going to do it regardless, to them it's the same as SEO. They need to number 1 in the YT algo, when you type in "pirate software roach". You want to be that first channel & you don't get that if you don't react to it. I don't think it's that much different from other drama trends over the years.

I found clip where he does it:

It's actually insane how rude and smug he is.
To a guy who admits that he is new, and asks to be reminded.
I was hoping someone would find it. I don't watch any of Lacari but Id be pretty pissed if I was new to WoW and I asked for advice and that's the reaction I got. Fuck him.

I can see why Lacari hates him. Shit like that sucks.

Edit; Honestly this clip makes me insanely MATI right now. I had people in my life like that, insanely smug about thing they know, and never letting go of it.
Feeding of embarrassment of the person who just want to do good job but lacks experience. And then being the most fragile little bitches when someone tries to banter once they are less knowledgeable than them.
Those people are cancer, and nobody deserves to have to interact with them.
Fuck Maldy.
That and the nerd meters showing that the new guy admitting he's new and needs reminders is in absolute lockstep with "The blizzard expert" and was initially smoking maldy before being thrown off by him being the rudest side lipping little cunt. :story:

I know this could very well be ragebait, but, what do you expect admins to do? They thought Jason would shut the fuck up and accept responsibility, instead he proceeded to vaugely threaten people, and never stated if it was towards guild members or people genuinely harassing him. Instead of shutting the fuck up and letting this drama die, he proceeded to bury himself in clip after clip after clip of stupid shit you should not say. But then again, Jason loved to brag about how effective his jannies and modbots are, so shocker, thousands of people proceeded to shit test you when you said you could not be unpolished.

So, naturally, Soda, Tyler, and whoever the fuck else sweeping up eventually threw their broom down, grabbed Jason by the collar and threw him out.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but he also promotes a $100 early access MMO that has been in development for 7 years and was started by a guy who made his money with an MLM vitamin company.

Leads the largest zerg guild within, get preferential treatment from said MLM greaseball, and rages at his peons.

for anyone who needs an explanation, higher bandwidth does not mean lower latency. he could, in fact, not tab faster than someone who lives closer to the server, has a route with less total fiber cable length, etc etc etc. i would get mspaint out to draw a diagram, but i'm sure you get the picture.

There's also a huge incentive for people to get attention by sending threats and doing gay and extremely homosexual stuff.

I would also say that livestreaming in particular is a different breed to the normal online celebrity where all sorts of parasocial relationships as well as financial relationships happen (besides the power structures you mentioned). It's all an extremely fucking weird thing that this guy is complaining about what is happening, while threatening to report people to Blizzard and at the same time people are gifting tens of subscriptions. It's totally fucking bizarre.

If I were in the same situation and I felt genuine discomfort and alarm at the threats I would've just issued a semi-apology saying "hey, maybe it was my bad" and stopped streaming for a few days. Sticking around on tweeter, taking screenshots of all the threats you're getting and continuing to livestream aren't really conducive to moving on from what has happened.

And I already know that fagtree has said some shit like:
"The idea that you shouldn't fight back or do anything to defend yourself is absurd. Absolutely do something about shit like this. Defend yourself and report that kind of behavior. It doesn't matter what size of creator you are that doesn't belong on any of these platforms." - https://x.com/PirateSoftware/status/1879581015766917391
This nigga is fucking retarded. He clearly just needs to back off and let things die down but he's too retarded to just take the L and I can only fathom that its because he's either stubborn, retarded or deliberately egging on all of this shit for more e-bucks and attention.

I really fail to believe that someone who has been online as long as he has isn't aware of this shit - and there is no way on earth he isn't aware that he isn't just dealing with a handful of people, he pissed off the autism of the WoW fanbase and fucked up by not just making a half assed apology early on.

>he thinks the game captures inputs as fast as he can press the buttons and not scanning per frame
>he thinks the packets aren't buffered
>he thinks the server doesn't have lagcomp specifically to counter the exact thing he's describing

Since when has SocialBlade been such dogshit? They're just scraping info from the YouTube channel's page, not even using the API to get accurate numbers.

This is no joke basically on par with what fucking DarksydePhil knows about internet infrastructure.

This is beyond parody at this point. This guy is legit fucking retarded.

edit: besides which the bragging about his internet speed is beyond faggotry. What a fucking gaylord. Who the fuck would ever want to play a game with this faggot except to get epenis clout? What a fucking loser

My takeaway from viewing this and taking in WoW vet commentary

1. Pull was winnable they could’ve just done more damage (this is the timeline Thor uses his mana resources)*
2. Even with a run call Yamato is in the right to immediately call out Thor for being so far away**
*Seriously if they just finished the boss off and either focused everything else down; leading to a down risk pull, or ran after the boss was dead increasing their chances of survival when running
**If you take this from a MOBA perspective, Yamato was watching his utility support run from a full melee fight (none of which have gap closers) and not helping at all (in league if you’re a support and low on hp you still stay nearby because you can still help and you being dead doesn’t change a lot)

Pirate is the experienced WoW player in this group and boasted class knowledge, the exact class knowledge that would’ve helped his group even in this botched call had he attempted to actually help instead of running and wasting mana (and not using 3 mana restoring options because the shot caller didn’t hold his hand to tell him to blow all cooldowns). I wouldn’t expect Yamato to make a good call in WoW but he is in the right to immediately call out the support for abandoning so hard, I would too.

Ever since PewDiePie bullied that faggot YouTuber they intentionally round the subscriber count and don't return exact numbers, not even from the API.

For the less technically inclined that don't realize how dumb this is, let me break down how every single part of Mald's technical statement makes zero sense:

By the way, I can tap faster than you, because I have 3 gig up/down fiber internet. Good luck ever getting another one of these pulls.

Multiplayer video games function by using "ticks" (or server frames), where it processes all of the input it receives on a regular basis, like games on your computer run frame by frame.

As an example, Minecraft runs with a default tick-rate of 20 ticks per second. CS:GO runs with 64 ticks per second (by default).
This means that, no matter how fast you spam a button, the game cannot perform computations faster than once per tick.

Secondly, there is a big difference between throughput (which is what he talks about here) and latency.
You can have very high throughput, but very high latency (think of a car factory that can output 100 cars a day, it still takes more than 12 hours per car, because these cars are built in parallel.) Just as you can have very low throughput, but extremely small latency (think of a TV's remote, it can only send a single information at a time, but it does so at the speed of light).

So already, his claim of 3 gig fiber makes zero sense. Someone with ADSL will have bad throughput but low latency, whereas someone with Starlink will have high throughput, but much higher latency.

Having high latency does not prevent you from sending many inputs, unless the game you play waits for the server to respond before allowing another input.
As you can guess, this would make significantly lower latencies completely unfair, slightly higher latencies completely unplayable, and, therefore, no serious game does this.

Lastly, multiplayer video games have to be built to work on any kind of internet connection, even if it's got absolutely horrendous throughput.
WoW sends, on average, approximately 30MB of data per hour. That works out to about 8.5 KB/s (or 68kbps, which means anybody with a slightly better than 56k internet can play wow with zero issues).

TL;DR: Throughput is not latency, latency does not prevent you from sending many inputs, and the server can only handle so much per tick, ergo, Mald is retarded.
