More tech illiteracy from Maldy:

For the less technically inclined that don't realize how dumb this is, let me break down how every single part of Mald's technical statement makes zero sense:
By the way, I can tap faster than you, because I have 3 gig up/down fiber internet. Good luck ever getting another one of these pulls.
Multiplayer video games function by using "ticks" (or server frames), where it processes all of the input it receives on a regular basis, like games on your computer run frame by frame.
As an example, Minecraft runs with a default tick-rate of 20 ticks per second. CS:GO runs with 64 ticks per second (by default).
This means that, no matter how fast you spam a button, the game
cannot perform computations faster than once per tick.
Secondly, there is a big difference between
throughput (which is what he talks about here) and
latency.
You can have very high throughput, but very high latency (think of a car factory that can output 100 cars a day, it still takes more than 12 hours per car, because these cars are built in parallel.) Just as you can have very low throughput, but extremely small latency (think of a TV's remote, it can only send a single information at a time, but it does so at the speed of light).
So already, his claim of 3 gig fiber makes zero sense. Someone with ADSL will have bad throughput but low latency, whereas someone with Starlink will have high throughput, but much higher latency.
Having high latency does not prevent you from sending many inputs, unless the game you play waits for the server to respond before allowing another input.
As you can guess, this would make significantly lower latencies completely unfair, slightly higher latencies completely unplayable, and, therefore,
no serious game does this.
Lastly, multiplayer video games have to be built to work on any kind of internet connection, even if it's got absolutely horrendous throughput.
WoW sends, on average, approximately 30MB of data
per hour. That works out to about 8.5 KB/s (or 68kbps, which means anybody with a slightly better than 56k internet can play wow with zero issues).
TL;DR: Throughput is not latency, latency does not prevent you from sending many inputs, and the server can only handle so much per tick, ergo, Mald is retarded.
