Trump asks for recommendations for people to hire, with some caveats:

Pence just being yet another name in a list of absolute shitters is fantastic.

He thought he'd make his career by distancing himself from Trump after Jan 6th but it just showed that he was as much of a DC swamp creature as the people he pretended to rally against.

le billionaires are creating a new oligarchy to replace the unelected government oligarchy (bad)
The iron law of government is oligarchy. There has never been a government throughout history which was not constituted of oligarchy. The benefit of monarchy is you knew exactly who was in the oligarchy and who to kill when they fucked you over. This is exactly why the merchant class were the biggest proponents of democracry and republicanism. Hard to buy a king or noble, easy to buy a congressman.

Assuming that is true, my read is that Trump is going to get more countries in the Middle East to recognize Israel. Although it seems odd at first glance, many of those countries hate Iran more than they hate Israel and have realized that even if they don't like the Jews all that much, at least the Jews aren't funding revolutionary movements in their countries to overthrow the government.
Don't be too surprised if this ceasefire ends up not applying to Iran. One of the biggest lessons of this war is that Iran's military can charitably be described as 'impotent' and that they can't fight anything stronger than an unguarded embassy.
But the holobunga was 80 years ago.
What the fuck is this supposed to mean?

I remember around this time 4 years I was talking to my best friend about what America was going to be like with Biden in charge. I asked him, "Mike, so with all the Powers That Be that despise Trump and never want him or anything like him in the White House do you think they'll rig it and make Biden a phenomenal success?" Mike laughed and said no the world is far more complex it's not a scripted drama.

Mike was right, because the Biden admin was the most demoralizing, embarrassing, and downright infuriating shitshow. Of course Trump had his own fuck ups and most of all Covid, but with Trump I felt that we had a big belligerent asshole in the highest rank and that was comforting in it's own way. That asshole was reacting to everything going on. I feel Biden has pretty much been in cruise control since the midterms. These last two months it hardly felt like there even was a President.

Goodbye Joseph Biden, you were the Worst President in my life.
But who was the worse president to ever serve, him, Hoover or Nixon?

I'm gonna kinda miss Joe. He sucked donkey dick, but in the end I can only feel so angry about a man that forgets what day it is. Goodbye Joe Biden. Wish it never happened, but we got through it.

I just sort of feel sorry for Joe. He was Obama's vice president as a safety net for people being nervous about a black guy finally getting the top job and then he was trundled out again a few years later as the safe bet to unseat Trump during the whole covid panic even though he was half senile at the time.

I'm glad that he seemed to have a few periods of lucidity during the whole fiasco of them replacing him at the last minute with the DEI hire. He fucked over Kamala with a few conveniently perfectly timed old man gaffes and that one press conference where he walked off stage with a shit eating grin after congratulating Trump on his win was a final twist of the knife. Trump was 100% right when he said that Joe hates Kamala.

Joe is half addled but he knew enough to know he got fucked out of losing the election on his own terms. Kamala was never going to win so it was pointless to pull Joe at the last minute and he took it personally.

Everything about what Biden('s handlers) did was wrong. Every single thing they touched, they fucked up. The fact that he was put there, despite all the shit around 2020, was wrong. They used Biden to send out a gorillion EOs and implement their bullshit and fuck over the American people for 4 years. Him going into a lucid phase long enough to fuck over Kamala doesn't change that he was the worst "president" of my life. He's probably worse than Carter- I wasn't alive back then, but at least Carter was a ""good man."" Biden was a piece of shit through and through. I'm not going to post him checking his watch again, but even outside of his handlers he had such contempt for America that I can't feel sorry for him. I won't miss him at all.

Do presidents normally do farewell speeches? Seems kind of pointless and self serving if anything.
As others pointed out it's super common. But I would like to add that the farewell speech is pretty important as it helps the ease the peaceful transfer of power by allowing the departing admin to end things on a graceful and positive note so the next admin can come in with little issue. If presidents didn't publicly thank the nation and step down at the end of their term things would be a lot more tense when transferring power.
