I'm glad they haven't copied 90s JV comics and Invader Zim's art direction but at the same time they may as well so it'd look better than the visual vomit mix of things they like. Go for the full edge, not this safe cutesy edgy dogshit.
Invader Zim background art. They nailed the modern dystopia atmosphere 20+ years before all of this shitty "fuck the corpos" cyberpunk 2077 tier media came along. Troons can't properly design their themes and atmospheres without injecting their fetishes into it which spoils their work.

Duckman also nails the modernity shit. I don't get tranny games. They mesh everything together lazily, and have no one on their team to tell them "no" or refine it to blend together better. All tranny games may as well be drug trip simulators but even LSD is more creative of a trip than their slop.

It doesn't look too bad art direction wise, but I can see how it's lazily building off it's predecessors and taking baby steps instead of full blow evolution into something new. From what I can tell, trans people do this for the same reasons cis do. They like the original inspiration so much they wanted to make more of it, but they're not thoughtful enough or caring enough to evolve the concept further. For game development troons in particular, there's a high chance of autism and wanting to keep things comfortable and samey due to comfort. I also don't expect cult members to branch out much as they are not challenged by new ideas or encourage to think for themselves, but to regurgitate canon and get asspats for talking about doctrine right or acting the right way.

They completely misunderstand the value/meaning from Texhnolyze/GiTS SAC and choose to believe or put stock in one of the more dour interpretations of post-human/humanist ideas and thoughts. It's like watching Evangelion as an early teen and being blown away, but later as an adult you just appreciate the novelty of it all and what it let you explore later. They just watched Lain as an adult and got stun-locked.

Can le quirky, Friday Night Funkin-esque, Newgrounds artists not add a bunch of shit bathed in purples and pink? This looks like utter shit when you stop the video and look at what you're seeing.

Bro this game is WAY too visually busy. Look at all the shit thats on the screen in these few screenshots.

The thing with Warioware is that visually, it's a flat colored design that isn't too visually busy and tries to not have too many distractions between sections. Compare the shit above with these screenshots below before entering a minigame.

Notice how different and less chaotic the visuals are between the pictures? Put art style aside, visual clutter is a massive problem and be overstimulating to the point of being annoying.

This game ain't gonna get any traction except from teens.....

I hate troons and that game looks like shite but Token the femtanyl cat thing has such a simplistic design you can't claim anyone is copying anything. It's literally a white ball with two rounded spikes for ears and two legs and two arms. Shit was extremely common in y2k mascot design (somebody else already posted Fella the deviantart guy, for example).

Surprised to see Beyond Citadel not brought up yet. It's a game about a bunch of edgy teens made in possibly the worst era to try and make something like that.
I like Zane but (creator gag) he's definitely the Christian Rock version of an edgy teen.
