Watch the video below.

This is in lights of the previous news from Iraqi government to pass law allowing girls as young as nine (9) to marry.

The car in the video shows english numerals on the numberplate. Iraq apparently only has arabic numerals.
ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Ministry of Trade and Industry announced that over 171,000 vehicles were imported into the Region through its border crossings in 2023.
Nawzad Sheikh Adham, General Director of Trade at the ministry, told BasNews that 924 licenses were granted last year to traders for importing vehicles through the Kurdistan Region's four border gates.
Adham clarified that not all the vehicles were destined for Kurdistan, as many were transported to other parts of Iraq. He also noted that the vehicles were imported from various countries, including China, Japan, the United States, Germany, and Gulf Arab states.
The official highlighted that the vehicles adhere to specific conditions and standards. Additionally, every year, decisions are made to ban the import of older vehicle models before the end of the calendar year to maintain the quality and safety of imports.
These are just the legal imports, it could easily be an illegally imported car, I doubt that in a country as ruined as Iraq there are a lot of cops on patrol to check up on your license plate.
edit: also the proposed change of the law hasn't actually been passed as far as I can tell: https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2025/country-chapters/iraq (its still a "draft amendment")
By November, the Iraqi parliament had not yet passed a draft child protection law introduced to parliament in June 2023.
To add to this, the twitter account that the video is sourced from is an indian account that heavily tries to ragebait about various religious issues (there's a huge conflict between hindis and muslims within india): https://x.com/HPhobiaWatch
That's fair, but I originally saw the video on Telegram and only then tried to find any English news source to feature it (the shitty "article" linked was the best I could find).

I'd like to prematurely apologise for spreading misinformation if this is found to be fake, BUT there are a lot of chances this might actually be a real but recycled footage.
Unregistered marriages are already a loophole enabling child marriage in Iraq, where child marriage rates have been rising over the last 20 years, a March 2024 report by Human Rights Watch found. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported that 28 percent of girls in Iraq are married before age 18. According to the UN Assistance Mission in Iraq, 22 percent of unregistered marriages involved girls under age 14.

Ok so its definitely not in Iraq but in Libya and people are claiming that the girl isn't a bride:

(facebook link that includes a bunch of gypsy tracking shit so I'm not including it - but the google goggles translate of the comments on the right side are people saying they know the groom and that's his niece and its a custom in Libya)

(translated shit)

Anyway I'm sure that child marriages still happen but I'm very doubtful that when they happen they make slick wedding videos for them.

Is there a full/longer video of the event on Facebook to back those comments up? The girl IS wearing the bride outfit and those commenters ARE muslims, after all.

Not that I can find.
But I did find a clip from another arabic wedding a month ago where someone bought a fucking lion and it attacked people lol: https://www.alarabiya.net/north-africa/2024/12/12/ليبيا-فيديو-لأسد-بين-المدعوين-لحفل-زفاف-والنهاية-غير-متوّقعة

And I mean even if you're saying the commenters are muslim etc - most of the people that believe its an actual child bride wedding and are writing in Arabic are condoning it and saying the guy and the girl's parents should be arrested. The comment saying it was his niece was the top comment with the most reactions (so showed at the top of the comment stack. There are like 1700+ comments on the post). A lot of comments also are saying they doubt the story being told about the clip (and since they're Arabic I guess they would know more about the cultural context)

One thing pointed out that I know from personal experience to be true (not in Libya/Iraq but other muslim societies):

Basically the bride would never be shown to the grooms friends like this (they probably have segregated weddings where men and women are separated)

There's also some claiming the law doesn't even allow for minors to be married in Libya but my searches on that front were inconclusive (apparently they ratified some treaty which only allows 18+ people to get married but I saw reports on the contrary)

That's fair, after all it might just be a yellow press story.
Thanks for the level-headed critical thinking there, I'll quote your message with the FB screenshots in the OP for additional context.

I know everybody's sperging about Muslims (and reasonable), but remember certain tiny dude with a tiny hat also advocated for the gov. to stay away from religion, meaning we'd would have the equivalent of Sharia but for the other bacon-unenthusiasts.

Meanwhile, here you can't get married by the Church until you first get a legal marriage approved by the law in which both are adults and consenting, precisely to avoid cases like this.

yeah no worries

I feel bad for the family involved because the guy seems like he probably just got married to some normal woman and now a bunch of people took a clip out of khantext that was supposed to be some family moment with his niece and think he's fucking marrying a 9 year old girl which is fucking gross as fuck.

For a minute I considered that this might be a Confirmation but the girl is VERY made up and looks scared shitless, and the man is physically moving her through the space.

Unsettling.

(But I also think that the music and the dudes celebrating with the car are from a different video.)

Just a cursory fact check:

I mention this because the source website for this seems dubious. As bizarre and uncomfortable as the video clip is it may be that its not actually a 9 year old bride but just some clip taken out of some other wedding video?

There's thousands of indian accounts like these that shit up the internet to try and generate rage/clicks/views.

If the thing is real and he actually married a 9 year old that is disgusting as fuck, but the sourcing of this is less than dubious.

edit: apparently the clip has been blowing up on arabic language twitter as well but someone has pointed out the numberplate/car is from Libya:

Disgusting. Child bride cultures must end, and that is incompatible with our culture. Yes, we sadly have troons, degeneracy and we are broken - yet our foundations are very different. This shouldn't give others the sense of self-righteousness.

Other than that, it seems like there's some fuckery afoot. Psyops, maybe? To give more fuel for wars against the Middle East?

Possibly. I heard people claim the original Facebook page/media outlet is "Zionist" so maybe it is legitimately funded by Israel or whatever and they just put out shit like this to cause trouble.

On the other hand these facebook pages and shit get paid based on engagement so they put out ragebait like all the time.
