In a serious note, I'm quite dissappointed about Obama's presidency in terms of taking action. Even with an opportunity were two parties can agree on, he often refrained from those. His legacy is really just Jimmy Carter 2.0; only that he had the experience, but lacked the initiative.
Edit: I was in my pre-teens when he got elected

I'd say the problem was simply history and the way the voting fell. When Obama came into power, much like Blair in the UK there was lots of celebration and such, indeed it was pretty awesome to see the US finally elect a black guy to the big chair.

The moment I realised things were going to go wrong, and badly, was when the idiots in Oslo handed him the Peace Prize for simply winning an election.

Then I realised someone had fucked up somewhere. Follow that with a Congress and Senate that was either obstinate or outright obstructive and he was never going to do much at home, and his lack of foreign policy and attitude showed badly.

Sadly, I think Obama will just go down as "The first african american president" and that's really it.

All this talk of a Trump assassination makes me really want to see some sort of detective show (think True Detective) where the main plot is the assassination of a conservative figure by a progressive group of people (politicians, celebrities, etc). Maybe make it a big conspiracy with other vices involved as well.

It works in the same manner in which shows about corrupt religious figures (season 1 of True Detective) work as well. People put out a front, a mask of morality and virtue but underneath that they're into some weird fucked up crime shit. Same thing works for vocally "progressive" people as well - they're supposed to be so educated, so socially conscious and wracked with white guilt or love for immigrants or whatever, it would be great to see a show that portrays them as secretly being all sorts of fucked up, child exploitation, immigrant sweatshops, drug dealing, etc.
