Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

I don't think it will be a problem because of the plastic walls surrounding it. My wife thought the same and looking at the receptacle renders it will probably have the opposite problem in that it will only disconnect when tilted on the Y axis and no other way.
the contacts get loose after taking the joycons off and on a lot, and you have connection problem, in worse case it might break off since its all cheap plastic. It dont look like a good solution for the joycons connection..

It really hasn’t. You barely hear anything about it. And when you do it isn’t the average gamer, it’s a subset of gamer even more niche than that.

It’s sold less than the vita/wiiu so far.

Valves most recent figure was less than 10 million.

Great for an enthusiast device, but it’s not mass market. Valve is definitely happy with it though, as the ROI was likely much better than the Valve Index.
It's still successful and it's been spawning multiple different handheld PCs as competition though. Not to mention, as that last reply points out, Valve is very pleased with its performance so far on top of that.

I thought we were supposed to be making fun of the Nintendrones, not joining them.

So what is the Switch 2 going to be ? NES→SNES or WII→WIIU?
No new gimmick, and they can't repurpose another entire library to save costs and make a shitload of money. The launch lineup must be insane, otherwise I am just left scratching my head.
Because I don't think Nintendo thrives on the iterative approach to consoles anymore, or at least that's what happened last generation.

The Switch2 going to be WII→WIIU

I feel like just from that short snippet of Mario Kart alone we can see a significant jump in visuals. Maybe not N64>Gamecube tier, but everything is much cleaner with higher poly counts and so on.

So you believe 99% of all Switch 2 games will come out on Switch?
I believe 99% of all Switch 2 games will mean only a handful of exclusives. When the DSI and New 3DS came out they had a small library of exclusive titles but they mostly stuck to making DS and 3DS games anyway until the "real" next system came out (DS->3DS, 3DS->Switch)

The Wii U had the gamepad screen as it's gimmick, and consumers were confused as they thought the gamepad was a very expensive accessory for the original Wii
It's be closer to a SNES, Gameboy Advanced, or maybe a New 3DS

You're not supposed to care who's "winning" or defend products based on how much money they're making for their manufacturers.

I've honestly never bought a hotcake in my life, as far as I remember.

Wii U was a unique circumstance with mobile gaming usurping the bulk of the Wii audience overnight.

I would look more to the GBC->GBA jump or DS->3DS move for a comparable parallel in Nintendo's history.
I think we're in uncharted territory and possibly witnessing The End of Console History, the day they said would never come. Nintendo is merely catching up to the same plateau of stagnation that the PS5 and Xbox Whatever have been on for however long. Either this thing will be DOA, or it will last like 12 years and the Switch 3 will be an even more minor incremental improvement.

Handheld devices to play your games are a dime a dozen. That’s my point. They always end up being priced the same amount as either a games console but have none of the games or people just tilt their head and go ‘i have a laptop for the same price’

Steam Deck will break through when it costs less than a PC, does not come with all the headaches a PC does for a normie and gives value that can’t be beat by a laptop.

And it’s not their yet, unfortunately.

And well, because PC does not take discs for games no more, I would argue one of the issues is no store presence. And then, also because not physical, people fear they run out of space. Now that’s on game companies for not actually making their game files well but I don’t want to ever have to delete my collection, nor do I want to have to get extra storage to keep it.

They figure a solution to those issues, I think they’d see massive sucsess.

I’d preload the systems with sll the Valve Titles and sell that in Store myself.

That's an interesting way to put it. How do you think the Switch 2's life will react to (imo) the coming economic collapse/hyper-inflationary death spiral? I think it's coming within the next 5-10 years.
I do think it would've been funny if Nintendo instead of teasing Mario Kart like what was shown they instead showed us a sequel to this game:

On one hand, I would have unironically been more hyped for this game than a new Mario Kart. The music in that game was fucking top notch.

On the other hand I don't trust nu-Konami to make a new good DDR game anymore, given their latest arcade output.
Unironically good OST. Fever dream atmosphere. And they even remembered Wrecking Crew.

The Happening is always coming within 5-10 years. We'll all find out about that together, in due time. I do think the ultimate collapse of human civilization is more likely to kill the Switch 2 than the MemeDeck is.

I for one am perfectly happy with the hardware in Switch 1.

If a developer is too retarded to make games work on it I probably don't want to play those games anyway.

Nintendo has historically been a few years late with gaming trends, both good and bad. They probably have another successful generation left in them while Playstation and Xbox fade into irrelevance before the nu-execs realize they can make a shitton of money by just dumping their games on PC.

Xbox already did fade away into irrelevance and PlayStation is right behind them, they only got one more console generation left in them.

If they pivot to portables it may be doable. I expect Microsoft to come out with a Xbox branded handheld PC eventually.

What I would like is if Nintendo made a Switch Micro that is basically a smaller version of the Switch Lite that's like $100-150 USD. Possibly a couple years from now, and then Nintendo establishes a pattern that their last gen becomes a cheaper and smaller console. It would totally sell better then the Wii Mini or 2DS
