Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

Small cars should be the most fun to drive IMO. I proudly own a 3rd gen Honda Fit with a manual transmission. It's not fast (but still fast enough to break all speed limits if you want to), but it corners like a dream.
I agree, that little nissan probably wouldn't flip no matter what I did. You also do feel good burning less gas. to pretty much do the same stuff.
And yeah, save the stupid shit for when there's nobody around. In the area I live, drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists are all discourteous to each other and it causes so much hassle. Drivers don't give that much room, but cyclists and pedestrians also jump out randomly, giving drivers little time to react. Can't tell you how many times I've been honked at for stopping in anticipation of a pedestrian crossing the street.
Courtesy is not the same as giving way, there are still rules to get the best flow of traffic of all forms.
The way it has worked for a long time is that pedestrians wait for cross traffic, but turning vehicles yeild to pedestrians.
Chances are that the guy at the side of the road looking at you is not hoping you'll stop for him, he's hoping you'll pass quickly so he can take advantage of the 10 second gap behind you.

Slowing down and stopping for a crossing pedestrian without right of way does slow down vehicle traffic. It also slows the pedestrian as he doesn't want to jump into traffic.
So he will want to wait for you to slow down with plenty of safety margin, but no waiting needed if no one is coming.

This is at a crosswalk. Should've clarified that. People honk at me for stopping at a crosswalk where I'm legally required to yield for pedestrians all the time. Same thing happens when turning right, where again, pedestrians legally have right of way. They don't care one bit.

I have a strange feeling a lot of the fuckbikes folks actually do have a history of driving drunk/running over pedestrians/suspended licenses for reckless driving.
On many videos in the r/fuckcars circle they promote one of the benefits of public transit as being able to go to a third place, drink to excess, and just taking the bus / tram home.

That behavior is indicative of substance abuse.

These are the same people who think the homeless shooting heroin and smoking crack on the street is completely fine. No surprise they see no harm in binge drinking. I'd bet they'd also fail a sobriety check for being high as a kite due to generating more smoke with their marijuana habits than most cars post-OBD2.

Their arguments make me think of the alcoholics (in Oklahoma) who get their licenses suspended, so their "genius iq" move is to ride their horses to the bar 🐎🍻 In case you're wondering - yes, drunk people can get DUIs riding horseback. Like, "I can get blackout drunk at the bar, and still get myself home ...possibly..."

Oh, snap, I just realized, are the people who are always bitching about wanting there to be more horsetrails, the rural equivalent of fuckcars folks? :?:😮

Fun fact these traffic urbanist communist uh would be taxed heavily in the USSR because the USSR had a tax for spinsters and childless weirdos,
and these people have no understanding of anything someone who actually is a construction manager the reason that a lot of things aren't panel buildings is because I don't know how people spend millions of dollars sending us the wrong panels and they have to replace them 'cause they sent the wrong panels panels is a slang term for pre built walls.

But I once had 10 dumpsters filled with panels that were completely incorrect.

And this whole idea that prebuilt prefabricating construction is cheaper as a myth sometimes it's cheaper if it's managed correctly but half the people doing it do not know what they're doing.
Don't get me started on getting the wrong panels the wrong time that's always fun.
Here's the thing about if you're not doing it you can stick pallets of two by fours brick masonry block literally anywhere and bring it upstairs can't do the same with panels

What makes the example of Singapore particularly interesting is that it's one of the few examples of congestion pricing that people had available--prior to its installment in NYC--to point at and say, "Look, it worked before! Singaporeans hardly ever drive!" So congestion fees don't cure "car brain rot" after all, it appears ... ?
Lee kuan yew literally is an authoritarian Democrat as in his society has extreme rules and if you break them you will be publicly caned or executed.
It's funny though example of a well won city is literally a country run by a guy who literally thinks that multicultural societies are trash you need to increase salaries of government officials to deal with corruption and executes drug dealers and vagrants

No. Most trails that allow horses are all use trails or for horses and hikers but not bike and ATVs. There is going to be droppings on trails used by horses because obviously so there can be tension with other users of trail systems. These are for recreation though, not transport, so it's a different issue. The people that would be riding home drunk would likely be road riding. Advocating for more trails for horses in parks is for sport. Wanting to stay off roads is part of why advocating for trails is a good idea. A lot are also very interested in land conservation as a part of it.

The worst people to encounter on the highway are minivan drivers, especially elderly minivan drivers. Slow and have no idea where they're supposed to be, think winter tires are a scam and their indicators seem to be operated by an RNG algorithm.
Next is JDM guys, having the steering wheel on the wrong side must lower your IQ by 20 points. They are often found seething about pickup trucks online because their Miata with a bodykit and fart can got walked by someone in a ten-year old 2500 towing a trailer.
Dodge RAM drivers are almost universally assholes, but then again they have to drive fast and reckless to get home before their transmission fails (again)
SUVs, sedans, company trucks, commercial trucks and sports cars all blur into one big 'average driver' category.

Nissan and Infiniti drivers are on their own levels of being reckless, to the point that the Big Altima Energy phenomenon became a thing. They blast past you at triple digit speeds on the Freeway, with body damage and missing pieces of bodywork, with either fake paper tags or no tags, and with either a spare tire or a bald one.

they're called niggers

I think these urbanists anti-car will hate that clip showing public transit under a different light.
So is FreedomToons a fellow Kiwi (*waves hello if they are here*) or has anger at the train-obsessed "fuck cars" radical leftists reached beyond the anti-Breadtube sections of the internet? (Or have "fuckcars" folks always been despised, & I just wasn't paying enough attention? I mean, people generally complain about bike lanes/think they're an unnecessary waste of funds better spent filling in potholes)

Not to my knowledge, but I think what we're seeing is due in part to how prolific the urbanism movement has become online where you can see pushed by youtube and other sites because channels like Jason's. I guess generally the average person (even according to them) has a somewhat negative view of urbanism/fuckcars rhetoric.

I'm somewhat happy a bigger channel like FreedomToons is covering this because there were smaller channels here and there who would counter back against urbanists, but not to the degree a major channel would. The thing is it's just not as hot of a topic at the moment compared to other things like DEI or troonism. Luckily we're starting to see people become more conscious of it lately and push back.

Unrelated tangent. I notice lately I see more comment sections with these anti truck people showing up. I don't know why these people feel like you need to justify to them as if you're asking for permission why you need to own a certain thing.

The thing I'm sort of highlighting is that you don't really notice this same type of comment for anything else besides trucks. You never hear someone say, "hey the phone you're buying is more than you need, you should buy a lower tier model". Or "hey the graphics card you're buying is more than the specifications of games you typically play". They visually look at a pickup truck and something inside of them gets offended.

Well the thing is no one really NEEDS anything and the definition of need is somewhat subjective. There are some people who might use the full capability of their truck everyday or some people who need it occasionally which is convenient for them and makes their lives easier.

The other weird thing they suggest is "Just buy a minivan". Well that is the thing, why do I need a minivan? If I'm mostly using my vehicle to carry things why do I need 7 seats? They somehow find a minivan less offensive than a truck just by the virtue that it isn't a truck I guess. TBH all their arguments are just mostly their personal feelings against things they have an arbitrary fixation against.

I could be annoyingly pedantic back to them. "Do you really NEED an e-bike? Why not just get a regular bike? Are you too lazy to pedal? It's worse for the environment to use batteries. How far do you travel that you NEED an e-bike?"

Youtube comments are filled with virtue signaling retards. Trucks are seen as macho, so therefore it's bad to those faggots so they virtue signal against it, as well as lack of theory of mind that different vehicles are better for different niches. Also, most of those guys are poor and can't afford the truck anyway.

Personal vehicles and firearms trigger those types of retarded faggots for the same reason.

I don't have my contacts in so I read that first as "firemen"; was momentarily quite confused 🤣. At the same time, I bet many of them actually hate emergency vehicles like Firetrucks and Ambulances solely due to them being, well, vehicles.

Regarding those anti-truck comments, do they know about how the Toyota Tacoma is THE #1 best selling car in Hawaii? For those that don't know of that, would they literally get aneurysms if they were to find out about that?

They already have that every time they see the even more common Ford F-150. They need lithium and a stay in a padded cell, not weed.
