Unless he is a total idiot (which he seems to be) and pisses away all his money, he can safely retire at this point, so it's not like he cares about the reputation of his studio. I also believe Warhorse overestimates the game's popularity. KCD filters a lot of people whom are used to cutscene laden, fast paced action titles, where you can win by mindless button mashing and everything is spoon-fed to the player. I doubt these people are suddenly interested in the sequel, because it looks like Warhorse, thankfully, did not tone down the complexity of the game. The fact this thread only reached 20 pages in 7 years shows how little people care, discussion only picked up, because of the controversy.
The only thing going for them was the cult following of history buffs, people who enjoy true RPGs, instead of the usual goyslop and edgelords who learned about the game recently and peaked their interest, because of the dev's anti-woke stance.
