Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) - Nerds protecting nonces

Sanderson is currently alienating his fanbase by insisting that not putting queer relationships into a story is more provocative than buckling to the Pride Blob and depicting them.
He's right though, gay faggot buttsex is expected to be everywhere now.

The only backlash I've seen from Sanderson readers is on /lit/'s /sffg/ thread. My other reading circles are eating up his latest book, like they do for every Sanderson book.
There's always going to be that population that passively consooms normieslop and never complains, because they only care that their bellies are full for the moment. It's interesting to see the difference in perspective between them and people who actually care about what they read.

I might give reading Mistborn another try since I already own it (I think that's the one, anyway), but something kept me from getting too invested at the beginning. At the very least, I may be able to diagnose the issue before moving on to other books.

Sanderson's a fine writer, all in all. It's just that if you've read one novel of his, you've read all of them. He's like one of those actors with no range. But he makes a stupid amount of money, so, all the more power to him.

I read it but skipped the faggotry. Tbf I got it on libgen and didn't pay.

If I remember it right, he hasn't done any major gay characters before, so I think he might be doubling down to resist the pendulum swinging back.

Larry Correia just had the best book dedication ever.

His books are complete trash. Zero clue what you’re talking about. They’re the worst kind quippy marvel tier slop. It’s one thing when you’re confined to movies and your options are so limited. There’s no excuse with books/lit as there’s limitless options.

Wasn't there some dyke in one of the books? I recall her being some kind of gunsmith?

Good on him though. It's 100% true.
It was the second round of Mistborn novels. Which were ok.

Sanderson is fine, but it's popcorn reading. Light, fluffy not a lot of substance to them. However, his sense of humour is reddit tier at best and just annoying.

His books are breezy and you can tell the man watches a ton of anime. Which would be fine, if his books didn't go on forever and ever. His books are the size of cinderblocks and he tells a story in 800 pages that most would tell in two.

Cat Rambo (born 1963) served as SFWA's president from 2015-2019, followed by one year as its vice president. In addition to being one of the oldest enby dangerhairs on the planet, her response to MZB being outed as a child abuser was whataboutism over Trump and Roy Moore.
Ok can I just point out that she responded to this outing in the worst possible way she could have?

I have read her Moira Greyland’s book (The Dark Side of Avalon) on the matter, and what MBZ did to her was fucking disgusting. I thought I had a strong stomach, and was proven wrong half way through reading it.

So essentially Robert Jordan for the current year.
I'll say it. Jordan was a better author. His books were comfy core. They were almost bold in the way that nothing happens for long stretches of time. The WoT books feel almost pastoral.

Sanderson is the equivalent of a child slamming his action figures together to recreate anime battles. His magic systems border on Tom Clancy gun fetishism. Pausing only to go into skits where two-three characters have a wacky quip off.
