The thing that's always bothered me most about the homeless is the layered clothing situation. I understand the necessity in the winter, but they just keep wearing that shit right on through into August. In fact, they seem to add more layers in the summer, rather than shedding. It's a stink lasagna. I'd rather stand downwind of the sewage treatment plant.

Every winter I hope the weather gets cold enough to cull most of them.

This never works. What you need is a natural disaster. Earthquake, tsunami, hurricane. That takes care of a lot of em right quick.

Here's a life hack that actually works. I shit you not. If you're walking down the street and find yourself approaching a bum, a nigger, or anyone else you don't feel like getting hassled by: flip the script. Mumble incoherently to yourself as you pass them. Just say nonsense sentences aloud and maybe dart your head around a little bit for show. They'll almost always leave you alone.

Yep, that's why most people who are homeless are only homeless for a short while, because most people will go to a shelter, find a job, and utilize the social systems in place to get out of homelessness. The rest, the chronically homeless, are the mentally ill, addicts, and lazy shitheads who realized they can coast through life and have everything they need handed to them.
My cousin works at a church and the homeless there are a fucking menace. They get beer from the liquor store across the street then go back to his church to get drunk on the porch and throw the bottles around the lawn. There was a guy who kept coming in to "just sit for a minute" and would proceed to pass out and piss himself, ruining every nice chair that church ever had. Other hobos in the area come in explicitly when there isn't an event or scheduled charity in the building and demand the gimmies that those events/charities give out, even though everything's been packed away and it's clear as day posted when the fucking "free clothes" and "free haircuts" days are.
The worst was this one woman who, instead of coming in to use the bathroom, decided to shit down the grates outside the building. Multiple times. and no she wasn't Indian, despite the evidence to the contrary. My cousin had to go clean it by hand because of where it was, and it just boils the blood. How fucking disrespectful do you have to be to force someone to clean your shit? Not just any building, the fucking HOUSE OF GOD?? It makes me so angry and bitter, and the wokescold mindset that the ~unhoused~ are just uwu victims that need to be given more free shit until they magically get better doesn't help.
NO! These people aren't going to get any better no matter how many clothes you give them, how many lunches you make for them, how many rides you give them across town or how often you let them come inside out of the weather. Nothing you can ever do will ever be enough because these people are fundamentally unwell, they are sinkholes that your good intentions will disappear into and never fill up.

As there was an interview in the hobo-paper about why nobody wants "help" - because that isn't really help, it has ties to it and if you break the commitment you are usually worse off than before. Removing food stamps, cash, housing, help and so on.

Clothes get used as "bedding" - pillow etc and they work at preventing you being stabbed or beaten.
