I think the leaks are real, but they leave out context to specifically induce the reaction that people are currently having right now. For example, the leaker saw the "We treat women better" line and thought "Oh hell yea, that's gonna piss off the chuds", and he was right.

Vavra is not commenting on it, because he can only lose by doing that. Game comes out in 3 weeks, reviews are good, preorders are way up and this is an artificial controversy created specifically to hurt the game's sales and the only winning move is not to play.

My most charitable interpretation: since the person he claims to be is long dead, he is lying about who he is.

As for how he got into the area, there is one plausible explanation. Back when the first game came out, I read an interview with Petr Čornej, the leading expert on the history of the period who IIRC was consulted for the game, where he said that while it's not proven, it was possible that Charles the Fourth, the father of king Wenceslas of Bohemia would have a black man at his court. His personal patron was St. Maur, traditionally depicted as black, so he would keep a black guy around basically as a good luck charm. This game takes place thirty years after Charles' death, but it would be a plausible that Sigismund kept him around as interpreter for dealing with Turks as king of Hungary and as a symbol that he's the better son and heir, since he kept his father's black slave. That's the historically plausible way to fit in exactly one black man.

I can see how some of this can come off as preachy, but is it in character for a Muslim scholar to try and make his religion seem better than that of Europe? I don't want to play as faggots, optional gay romance or otherwise. Henry is a fleshed out sequel character which means if there's an option to romance men as him, then he is 100% gay (yes bisexual is fucking gay). Now If it was a blank character I can create (eg. Pathfinder, Baldur's Gate etc) then that's fine, but in this case I'm just playing as a defined character not unlike Drake in Uncharted. On the opposite side of the spectrum there's Link which is for all intents and purposes a blank slate.

Skipping the gay romance isn't gonna change that fact, henry is 100% gay.
