Normal people aren't buying this, period, because the gameplay more complex than Skyrim. Only history and CRPG buffs will enjoy this, one of these groups is burned and the other isn't likely to keep your company afloat. It all depends on how much they spend making this. Baldur's Gate 3 this isn't, so there is no way this is getting universal appeal despite being woke.
I already said this, KCD is a niche product, not a mainstream game. KCD2 isn't changing this, Warhorse is cutting it's nose to spite it's face with how they're treating their fans. Hope Blackrock bucks were worth it.

The combat isn't for most people and i expected refunds over that even if the hyped continued. They just decided to antagonize the people who created that hype. The only reason people are talking about it is because of Avowed being woke and dragonage flopping. It's the "we have our own game, see!"

The funny part is that there's no hype - after the previews you'd have expected the game to climb to the top of Steam charts, instead it's been steadily falling down ever since the leaks began spreading. Before the leaks the game was 11th on the charts, now it's below the 30th place.

As others have said, Warhorse have antagonized the niche audience they needed for the game to be successful. The Steam forums are an endless tide of mockery and anger, with a minority of simps attempting to suck dev cock but not having enough numbers to stem the tide.

i lurked the KCDII board for a bit and it's just a relentless cesspool of retards, rage bait, and people spending 12 hours a day (not hyperbole, literally people do this shit all fucking day) complaining and arguing about shit in a game they have no intention of playing, i don't get it.

I do not wish to pick a fight with you, but I strongly disagree with your assumption. There are plenty of things in the first game that could have triggered the reaction you described, yet no one was bitching about any of them in the past 7 years. If people complaining about the recent leaks were indeed histrionic fags, who just pick apart games, looking for an excuse to get mad, how come no one raised a ruckus over the various dialog options that heavily criticize the Catholic Church and its esteemed members? There was no outrage over the implied gay relationship between Istvan Toth and Erik either. The first game handled these things with grace, while the leaks indicate the sequel is going to have hamfisted, in your face virtue signaling. People are rightfully disappointed.

My point of view to GamerGate I have stated in various interviews, among others, at Kotaku. In summary, I would like to say that for me at heart it was always about the freedom of speech and the freedom of opinion and thoughts. The freedom for artists to create art, free of political influence. For me personally and I speak only for myself, should the artwork initially always be seen free of political or ideological views, unless the art clearly and aggressively communicates racism or any form of discrediting of minorities.
