This is not the behavior of someone who is secretly woke and about to drop the Joker 2 of his franchise. Of course, this is where the people who pride themselves on their pattern recognition suddenly don't see a pattern anymore. Why that is is anyone's guess, all I know is that once the game comes out and the controversy turns out to be a big nothing burger and they have been infighting and hurting someone on their own side of the culture war for nothing, they won't even have the decency to admit they were wrong.
What I am genuinely curious about is how people felt about the Theresa DLC in the first game. I was not a big fan of it, because it felt like "the feminist DLC", and I had to reevaluate if I dislike it because it's boring or because I have become so anti-feminist over the last decade, that even a
hint of what appears to be a "strong, female character who needs no man" makes my knee jerk. It felt like they were trying to appease the feminist haters and go "see, look, we aren't sexist!". After some time I came to the conclusion that that is retarded, and they probably just wanted to explore a woman's lot in the medieval times, what with getting married off and almost raped and whatnot.
