Jiri fight got me hyped as fuck. Watching Merab fuck Umar in front of Khabib is top 5 MMA moments of all time for me. I really, really wanted Moicano to get it done. I thought he might have had a chance after seeing Dustin manage to damage Islam. Oh well. Dude was incredibly gracious and humble in defeat,

Speaking of champions without contenders, give Merab Pantoja. They both also pretty much cleared out their respective divisions
Fingers crossed that Volk gets knocked out in the rematch and they give Ilia a chance. You could very well justify it, Volk is arguably the featherweight goat and Islam does not have a clear number one contender. Fans would love it, probably the biggest superfight they could make, even bigger than Ilia vs Max was

Islam humiliates another BJJ black belt (who give him? We have to check that one). I know Islam has his own weapons (wrestling, judo, sambo) but not even Sakuraba was this hellbent on embarrassing the pajama boys like Islam (Moicano, Poirier, Oliveira, Moises, Hooker, Dober). Islam is pretty much out of challengers at 155. Short of Ilia Topuira coming up from 145 or reaching down and grabbing Paddy Pimblett for the meme value, Islam's only plays are to pull a Khabib and retire or make the move up to 170.
Likewise, Merab has no clear challengers except for do-overs against Yan or O'Malley.

I really want whatever they shoot into those Georgians. Just watched the Merab fight again and I’d love for UFC to strap a heart rate monitor on him for his next bout. Dude only takes a few deep breaths in between rounds. His ability to just shoot for takedowns and run around for 5 grueling rounds is unreal.
