Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I don't like how newer cards in the TCG make 'mons lack resistances they used to have.

Like Gastly being like a vidya pure Dark type with weakness to Fighting and no resitances, or Sandshrew lacking Lightning resistance.

The TCG really was better before Gen 4. 4 was when they changed vidya Poison type to Psychic in that TCG, and made overpowered 'mons.

I found a shiny Exeggcute while playing the Minecraft mod, Cobblemon, at the recommendation of this thread.

I wish there was a decent Cobblemon server, I've tried a few but they're all either got tweaks/plugins I don't like or they're pay to win. Half of the ones I joined had a pronoun plugin for the scoreboard.

I've just been playing solo. I've spent an inordinate amount of time fishing up the magikarp jump variants, because they're neat.
And the minecraft-ification of some of these lil dudes, too, is wonderful.

What is so great about Zygarde? Its just a random hexagon themed snake. I could understand stuff like genesect being one of a kind robot constructs, but Zygarde doesnt really fit into the duality of life/death they were going for with X and Y. It turns into a fucking gundam. Unless its the pokemon deity of isekai, its just doesn't fit into a trio as well as Giratina did and was just as random as Genesect or that genie who also had zero bearing on the actual franchise.

Arceus was at least their version of God or some form of origin story. Zygarde just exists and hisses menacingly.

It, and the other XY legendaries, have ties to Norse mythology. tBbRXGj.jpeg
And Zygarde's other forms are Loki's children.

It's depressing how Scarlet and Violet screwed up the concept of having regions and legendary Pokemon tied to myths and the like. Paldea is a shit hole that's the Brazil of the Pokemon world with nothing meshing together. We finally get Pokemon based on the Celestial Beasts and Momotaro myth, yet they screwed this up somehow (the Momo legendaries weren't as offensive as the Celestial Beasts). The vanilla legendaries looked like shit and the "lore" if it existed was hit and miss. None of the legendaries even fit in Pokemon's version of Brazil.

Paldea is Pokemon Spain, but the region is so generic and mutted up that I can't blame you for thinking it's Brazil. Then again, just like in Football, it might as well be a Brazil since oh boy, it is much worse than Sword/Shield, truly a difference between a 1-5 and a 1-7.

hi hello again

so after god knows how many outbreaks, i managed to get a shiny dunsparce. there is no goddamn reason it was as hard to find as it was, and it's an absolute piece of shit, but will evolve it anyway to see if it maybe is the lucky three-segmented dundunsparce :optimistic:

also caught shiny sandygast and i am very happy about it because i like the stupid sandcastle pokemon

Do you know how many encounters it took?

God, I always hated how Dunsparce was absolutely useless. I love it's design, I love that it's rare and it makes you go looking for it, and yet it amounts to nothing in an actual battle. I've seen the GC romhacks I played a while ago trying to make it viable, but I didn't have time to play around with it, I am glad that SV gave him a new evolution but I wish they gave my boy buffs way earlier, in older games.

Why is Growth not a Grass type move?

I thought it might be something like splash where it's been mistranslated, but it still means growth (as in development or strengthening) in Japanese. It's so generic they probably kept it as a normal type so any species could use it without it being weird. The animation has always been bland too.

I've always heard this sentiment when talking about Dunsparce in battling terms, but I really don't get it. Am I missing something? At least in Gen 6, it is an early-game POWERHOUSE. The fucking thing gets Yawn at level 16 and Serene Grace Ancient Power at level 19. It can destroy the first gym with Rollout no problem and even put up a fight in the second by spamming Roost/Ancient Power. It gets a bit screwed by the third, but that's already dabbling in midgame territory.

I have a feeling this "Dunsparce sucks" sentiment is just brought about by shitty placement. The poor thing is so rare and so often shoved into the mid or endgame that there's rarely (if ever) any reason to use it, but if you put it near the beginning of the game it becomes a very useful tool very quickly.

Dudunsparce has done wonders for its battling reputation, at least, which I am quite thankful for. Hyper Drill is a great move that actually makes the poor thing usable and I find its digging behavior in the overworld very memorable. Genuinely glad that Dunsparce got some love, it's one of my favorite things about gen 9. :)

n-no? i don't quite understand the question because during outbreaks you're not really getting 'encounters', you're just picking off ~60 pokemon in the outbreak through autobattle until it tells you there's not many pokemon left in the outbreak, and then resetting the spawns by picnicking until the shiny shows up.
Seriously, I feel like something is broken with the outbreak system. I feel like I see the same mons every time, but it's supposedly effected by where you save.
i've had pretty varied outbreaks. dunsparce is actually a pretty common outbreak for me to see, but i could never get the fucking shiny to show up. if it is indeed affected by where one saves, though, that would be helpful to know because i'm thinking about going for a shiny alolan vulpix.

dunsparce used to be used as a gimmick pokemon by paraflinching opponents. first you'd paralyze the opponent and then you'd use moves that have a chance to make the opponent flinch, since serene grace doubles the chances of the secondary effect occurring. and then you'd just keep doing that until you wore the opponent down.

maybe one day dunsparce or dudunsparce will get a mega form... :optimistic:

true, but Togekiss always outclassed it so idk if that really counts

I mean, hey, if Z-A really is bringing Megas back then there's a solid chance! We know they're willing to add new ones, so why not? Would be funny. :P

Have you tried the culling method? Battle enough to get it down to it saying there aren't many left, and then try this:
Just keep walking, and despawning Pokemon you don't want so there are more dunsparce loading in.
