I am not sure what Zack means when he says "care," but Germany did just put into effect a new self-ID law November 2024. It's called the Self Determination Act. It is really just a law that says you can go to an office and change your gender marker on a legal document to whatever you want it to be. Here is an AI summary of the act below.

Erin Reed of ErinInTheMorning.com, blogger and trans activist may talk shit about Christians today but was singing a very different tune just a few short years ago.

I was just invited to be a deacon in my church! This is so cool. I'm just so happy that my church has been so supportive in my transition and further allowed me to continue to put my own gifts to use.

I officially accepted my churches nomination to be a deacon yesterday.
Nobody objected. That was not a certainty - I'm sure at least a few people have trouble with gender identity. But... that they all see me as a fellow sister in Christ moves me.

Presbyterian Church (USA). Christian, deacon. I love my church and my church community, and found a lot of personal connection with God through my church. On top of it, they ve been beside me throughout my transition and have been my number one allies.

Sounds to me like Tony Reed actually IS the type of person "that reads bible verses" so does Zack have an issue with his husband's faith?
The Self-Determination Act (SBGG) in Germany allows transgender, intersex, and non-binary people to change their gender marker and first names on official documents. The law came into effect on November 1, 2024.
What does the law do?
What does the law do?
- Allows people to change their gender marker and first names on official documents
- Replaces the 1980 Transexuals Act
- Allows people to make a simple declaration instead of going through a judicial ruling
- Allows people to change their gender entry to male, female, or diverse
- People can make a declaration to their local civil registry office
- The declaration can be reversed after one year, with some exceptions for minors
- The declaration takes effect when the registry office receives it
- Some say the law brings Germany into line with international human rights law
- Others say the law undermines the safety of women and girls
- The law was voted on in the Bundestag on April 12, 2024
- The law passed the Bundesrat on May 17, 2024
- The law was promulgated in the Bundesgesetzblatt on June 21, 2024
