I officially accepted my churches nomination to be a deacon yesterday.
Nobody objected. That was not a certainty - I'm sure at least a few people have trouble with gender identity. But... that they all see me as a fellow sister in Christ moves me.

The bill only needs 60 votes to override a filibuster (a process called cloture), so they'll only need 7 Democratic votes for cloture which is more likely to get votes from across party lines. That is, assuming that any Democrats actually do filibuster, and if they do I think that Republicans might welcome that opportunity and force them to stand on the floor to defend men in women's sports, and as soon as a senator steps off the flood (including for basic biological functions) they can't filibuster anymore, so if Republicans actually make them filibuster (instead of just threatening to filibuster) I can't see it lasting for long.

Sadly, this is no longer the case, and hasn't been since 1975, when the rules (specifically Rule XXII) were amended to allow a "silent" filibuster where nobody even has to get up and say a word. They just have to threaten it without even explaining themselves.
