Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I've always heard this sentiment when talking about Dunsparce in battling terms, but I really don't get it. Am I missing something? At least in Gen 6, it is an early-game POWERHOUSE. The fucking thing gets Yawn at level 16 and Serene Grace Ancient Power at level 19. It can destroy the first gym with Rollout no problem and even put up a fight in the second by spamming Roost/Ancient Power. It gets a bit screwed by the third, but that's already dabbling in midgame territory.

I have a feeling this "Dunsparce sucks" sentiment is just brought about by shitty placement. The poor thing is so rare and so often shoved into the mid or endgame that there's rarely (if ever) any reason to use it, but if you put it near the beginning of the game it becomes a very useful tool very quickly.

Dudunsparce has done wonders for its battling reputation, at least, which I am quite thankful for. Hyper Drill is a great move that actually makes the poor thing usable and I find its digging behavior in the overworld very memorable. Genuinely glad that Dunsparce got some love, it's one of my favorite things about gen 9. :)
Thing is that in competitive, what you're describing is the nichest of the niche, and even then there is better paraflinch Pokemon. In-game, it is way to rare to even bother with, even the official guide for GS said that it's best use once you catch it is a PC warmer. He got stronger in Gen 6, but it is pretty much completely useless in any serious battling environment in Gen 2-5. Again, maybe fanmade romhacks fixed him, but it's going to take a lot of work to make him work in OU or even UU in any ladder.

Have you tried the culling method? Battle enough to get it down to it saying there aren't many left, and then try this:
Just keep walking, and despawning Pokemon you don't want so there are more dunsparce loading in.
yep, but it still took forever. though part of the problem is that dunsparce outbreaks seem to be in the shittiest places, like in areas with tall grass that obscures them.

usually it's faster and easier to just set up a picnic and then immediately exit, which also resets spawns. edit: unless you're in an area where you're unable to picnic, like the paldea crater. i was watching a video where some dude mentioned that an easy way to know if there's a shiny is if there are 16 of the same pokemon on screen at once. it seems like 15 is the max number of the same pokemon on-screen at once, but if there's a shiny it will always be in a group of 16. this is actually pretty useless information unless you're looking for shinies that are virtually identical to their non-shiny counterparts, and more specifically for pokemon like shiny minior because god help you if you try looking for a shiny one.

i intended to test the above theory when i was looking for a shiny sandygast, but i got too excited when i saw the shiny and didn't count how many of them were on-screen when the shiny appeared.

I don't like how newer cards in the TCG make 'mons lack resistances they used to have.

Like Gastly being like a vidya pure Dark type with weakness to Fighting and no resitances, or Sandshrew lacking Lightning resistance.

The TCG really was better before Gen 4. 4 was when they changed vidya Poison type to Psychic in that TCG, and made overpowered 'mons.
Resistance doesn’t matter as much anymore when it’s like -30 to a type and an attack from that type is 120-150 damage. It coincides with the stupid simplification of the game post GG winning worlds and their promise to make the game to where everyone was on an even field and you didn’t need older cards.

Poison has flipped 2 times in the game as they’ve tried to keep it balanced and not try to introduce a new type again like they did with fairy. Outside of metal, lightning and fire, every other type harbors another one. It’s because Satoshi Tajiri wanted the trading card game to be parallel to magic while having bug fighting elements in the game iirc.

I didn’t care for gen 4 because weakness being +20 kind of made type advantage matches not worth the trouble and introducing basic dark and metal energy wasn’t enough to make up for it. I also didn’t care for lvl x Pokemon either because they were also terrible for something that both ex and v would later on do better.

I love how we're talking about the TCG but not even bothering with the current insanity involving Costco's release of 151's Blooming Waters Premium Collection box or the dogshit Prismatic Evolutions is dealing with in general.

Scalpers have always existed, it's just becoming more and more blatant and pathetic as time goes on. Photographic/video evidence people are putting up of this helps with exposing others to it, but it's just a small taste of the stuff that goes on.

It also doesn't help that TPCi doesn't keep up with the demand (especially in the case of special sets that don't have booster boxes, a set class that both 151 and Prismatic Evolutions are considered) and alters a set's pull rate when those same scalpers complain about their "investments" being devalued because a you're guaranteed a Secret Illustration Rare in a sealed booster box.

Pokémon TCG is the most goyslop thing ever

That’s because the Pokémon TCG is more popular with niggers compared to even Yu-Gi-oh and magic the gathering. Niggers ruined baseball cards collecting.

I'd disagree, that goes to Disney's Lorcana TCG due to The Mouse only deciding on making it due to the popularity of other TCG.

At least Pokémon has actually become cheap to play in recent years, there were times where meta cards demanded high double-digit prices and now it's either single-digit prices or, at worst, low double-digit prices. The only exception is if you want to act like a nigger and "bling" out your deck with max-rarity cards and holographic Basic Energy cards. Most good players will laugh at you because they know you're compensating for a small penor.

Niggers aren't even the main scalpers in the TCG scene, it's almost always some form of beaner that maxes out their credit cards to do this shit.

Earlier I said TCG may have only been good up to Gen 3 ("EX").

Maybe I could even be a "Genwunner", when it comes to the TCG.

It was never good, Wizards of the Coast intentionally saw to that.
It's at least easier to understand than some of the others. Attach energy, knock out the other with an attack from the energy, and draw from your prize pool. If you run out of prizes: you win! There's no silly defense mode, trap cards, pendulum summons...

HHHRRRRRRMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG

yeah so i got myself that shiny alolan vulpix i was talking about on the last page :smug: oh, but don't worry, though, it absolutely fucking sucks and it's like the worst possible everything - male, lonely nature, shit stats, no titles

my shiny alolan vulpix is an incel

edit: what really sucks is that i also had an umbreon outbreak, but i didn't have any more herba mysticas after the vulpix outbreak, and despite doing 5 or 6 star raids, i wasn't getting shit. but i figured, i have at least one shiny eevee in one of my other games that i could transfer over, as well as a shiny kanto vulpix, so maybe i'll do that if i'm really inspired.
