The rest of the world already has tariffs and trade restrictions on American exports. Trump wants them to stop doing that, and if they don't then they'll get tariffed back.

You can make a basic bitch argument about them not really working (it's untrue), but how is it less ethical than any other tax?

If don't use them then you'll have corporations flooding in the worst kind of migrants. It's a great way to force billionaires to build shit in your territory and hire your citizens.
