But the suing celebrities and the way he interacts with hookers means he doesn't quite fit the mold for me. Call me autistic if you must but I realized I had a large hole in my understanding of why he does the things he does, and I want to understand how someone turns into someone like this.
It's a mixture of many plates spinning at once.
He is extremely insecure for obvious reasons: physically deformed and really stupid, but grew up surrounded by people that are not. That's extremely undermining to the development of a strong and secure sense of self worth if the issues aren't being properly addressed, such as positive reinforcement for what were perceived as things he excelled at (therapeutic Strength based approach if you want to read up on it).
He has most likely been rejected from every romantic and sexual advance he ever put forth in his teen and early adulthood, which is likely what lead to his belief that his path to love is littered with the corpses of a million hookers. His communities growing up did appear to be inclusive, but only up to a point, remember that these guys are Mormons, and while they are genuinely kind and probably tried to see the good in him, but he probably did get inappropriately touchy, in a creepy hugging and not letting go sort of way, that lead to a few conversations that hurt his feelings because he did not understand and doesn't know what nuance, chemistry, reciprocation or complex feelings are. His understanding of the fairer sex is 'me want puss'. If puss is not given, you don't hate him specifically, you hate his disability. Because it's never something unique to him that is the problem, and never has been. You just never understood him, and that's on you. It's your loss, but he will totally forgive you if you cuddle with him.
The debate about him being a sex addict comes up in this thread now and then, and I always say that he isn't addicted to sex, he's addicted to validation by women (and apparently rarely gay bottom men? but I don't know how often he indulges that aspect). If it was just a matter of a grubby hand job or what have you, the Russ you know and love wouldn't exist. Sex is the easiest path to validation for him for a number of reasons, it's simple in it application. I have sex, I feel good, I pay for this service woman to tell me I am the bestest boy at slaying puss, repeat. More traditional ways of getting validation are participating in your community in a healthy or helpful way, which he doesn't do and as far as I know has never done, Greer doesn't seem to be particularly charitable with his money nor his time. You can work hard at something, and excel at something, but again, Greer does not like to apply himself. His best efforts have always fallen flat, his best work is the low side of mediocre and only because he pays professionals to clean it up for him, and to be honest, his most consistent work is menial labor, and when was the last time you slapped a Walmart janitor on the back and said, 'Son, that's a beautifully mopped floor'?
People that toil like this can go any number of ways, they accept their lot in life and just ride it out and keep their heads down until...I dunno. Death, as grim as that is. But they can also take Russell's path: It's not his fault, it was never his fault, he was destined for great things and beautiful women but usurpers keeps stealing his due. It's a negative feedback loop, because the more you buy into this false narrative, the more weird, sad, lonely and isolated you become, which means you tend to become less inclined to work well with others, less inclined to put effort into things, more inclined to take what you perceive to be the path of least resistance (i.e. Attempting to litigate powerful female celebrities into dating you). His delusions persist despite overwhelming evidence presented to him that he is not what he thinks he is, not a kick ass lawyer, not a manly stud, not romantic or capable of wooing women, not a gifted songwriter, keyboardist, screenwriter, politically motivated person nor a good public speaker or debater. On top of calling for Hardin being investigated and disbarred for simply doing his job, he has this massive rage erection for some lawyer or something in Nevada that is anti prostitution/brothel, and Russell seethes endlessly at this man, I think I read recently that this man can't even be bothered to acknowledge Russell exists, so Russ has started calling him pedophile or something like that on twitter in replies to him. He lost a debate he was never in, and he's a sore loser about it. He exhibits many signs of rampant, untreated mental illnesses.
Russell is the sum total of failing at nearly everything he has attempted, but because of what I believe to be several unmedicated and unaddressed mental illnesses, his psyche has cloaked itself in a protective cloak where he is exactly what he thinks he is, and reality simply cannot piece that shroud. The best evidence that he is unhinged and incapable of things he should know after 5 years of education is how to litigate a case, and failing that, how to research how to litigate his cases. Instead; he whines, attacks people personally, complains that the system is rigged against him and when he is called on to attend his legal obligations of litigation he brought forth, he digs his heels in and becomes a giant wailing child. He doesn't care how bad this makes him look, because he believes that once he wins this slam dunk case, public opinion of him will finally turn. It has to. It just has to.
tl:dr 60% retard, 30%~ malignant NPD. Give or take 5-10% rolled into other mental illnesses such a psycho/socio based on perceived lack of ability to follow thoughts through to completion, lack of empathy, sustained delusions. And maybe. Maybe a bit of coddling in his youth, but I don't believe it raises to the level others here claim it does.
