in my experience, I have worked with quite a few obviously very autistic people, and they can be annoying while also being very capable or outstanding workers. But anyone who admits to being autistic (and not in a self-deprecating jokey way) is 100% impossible to be around. I think it’s the “you have to treat me special because my mom said so” mindset that comes with telling people they’re autistic.

I worked with an autistic guy at my first job out of college. Guy was a great coworker. Super dedicated, very detail-oriented. You asked him a question about projects he owned and he could tell you everything about it like an encyclopedia. Was socially awkward as hell but a model employee
