American companies have a number of factories there to and there is no lack of proud "patriots" waving Mexican flags in the states whenever a series of immigration related raids happen. The cartels are known to be heavily entrenched in the human trafficking market and a lot of people have to pay fees through them to enter the United States. Not much would be all that surprising.
