holy shit, maybe the gook said it but altman just said

"How excited he is for AGI" not just AI

Thats Artificial General Intelligence, think Hal 3000
Sam Altman is a grifter who abused his position at a VC to appoint himself CEO of a promising research organization they’d funded. He knows nothing about AI which is why he constantly talks about science fiction. If you noticed, only Larry Ellison actually said anything substantial, even though the “cancer diagnosis” AI tool he mentioned doesn’t use Large Language Models, the hyped chatbot tech that OpenAI specializes in that requires enormous amounts of compute.

Masayoshi Son is the luckiest man in the world. He constantly gets convinced by grifters like WeWork and Sam Altman into investing billions into useless and unprofitable companies, but he somehow always ends up richer than before.

Feds in /r/fednews continue to melt down. I had no idea feds though of themselves as "noble".

Knowing a few fed workers myself, I can confidently say they're all the same. Utterly useless with no skills and arrogant to a fault. Literal pencil pushers and desk jockeys. Half of them also claim to be veterans.

The advantage of AI in medicine is it significantly reduces medical error. It might replace all those shitty specialists who sit on their ass and charge $15,000 for a 15-minute consultation that isn't correct.
I've thought about this before, and I'm not really an AI enthusiast, but isn't it only as smart/accurate as we are? Couldn't it still potentially misdiagnose?

So, pardon my ignorance, but I actually knew very little of Silk Road and Ulbricht, and had always assumed it was just an online narcotics ring. What am I misunderstanding here, because I was under the impression its dismantling was a good thing (granted online distribution networks never really went anywhere afterward). Was there something shady about how he was arrested or tried?
He was arrested because people did shady stuff on the site he administered. People want him released because in an age where Paypal, VISA, and other banks have too much control over online transactions - with no competition - they can control a lot of what you can do on the internet. Because it was essentially an anonymous platform to protect peoples' privacy, ofc bad actors got involved. However, that shouldn't stop people from finding alternatives to our shitty banking system.

"Gulf of America" still sounds weird.
Mt. McKinley doesn't sound as majestic as "Denali".
Gulf of America is stupid but it's also funny so I'm okay with it.
Mt. McKinley should be a co-official name with Denali. I don't see what the problem is with that, then everyone can call it whatever they want.

It's also just a complete absurdity that a first time offender got double life + 40 years in federal prison. A decade is already more than enough.

Idk if it was posted here, but this is an excerpt from one of the executive orders, titled "DEFENDING WOMEN FROM GENDER IDEOLOGY EXTREMISM AND RESTORING BIOLOGICAL TRUTH TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT".

The issue with it is, it is unable to tell the gender of a child until it is six weeks old, since that's when the male sexual characteristics form and replace the ones coded by the X chromosome (female characteristics).
If this was the case and sex was decided at conception, all human beings would be female.

Good job, people, you are now identified by the US goverment as women. Blame this discriminatory DEI gender policy on Trump.
congrats this is the single most retarded blackpill cope I have ever seen

arrogant to a fault.
I've noticed this as well. They are so entrenched in DC and have worked for so long through so many administrations that they cannot admit the possibility that they are wrong.

I would never trust an AI by itself, but it can review a lot more data in a much shorter time than a human. It's about getting a more accurate average.
