He says he can only play games that bring him money, he wishes he could play the games he likes, etc., he has a loyal dented fanbase and he claims to watch other streamers with his wife, so I'm not sure how he hasn't realized that you can play any game you want and there will be people out there willing to watch and pay you if you're fun to be around and entertaining. The issue is he's not willing to work up to the point or make any changes in himself (not his retarded ever growing streaming setup) to get there.

You have people like Jerma985, Vinesauce, PaymoneyWubby who are all just likeable dudes with quirks and flaws that can pick up and play the dumbest shit, a game they've played a half dozen times before, the newest WHITE HOT release or just talk at the camera and make bank because they took the time to cultivate a welcoming environment where people want to be. DSP's streams are hostile by default, you get yelled at for chatting about anything besides what DSP is doing that very moment or asking him what food he likes, and he immediately quits or gives up on something if it doesn't immediately rain money on him.

I know we say he's retarded, a narcissist, etc. but you'd think he would have at least learned to imitate successful streamers better after so many years when he sees how much more money they make than he does. He's never had a problem stealing ideas in the past, even if he's outright shit on said ideas. It's just kinda fascinating how he seems to be so determined to fail.

A few hours back, I was visiting my dad. He had ESPNews on. The banner on the screen said "Fly Eagles Fly" and I was reminded of the DSP hospital story. My dad later commented on that "Fly Eagles Fly? Yeah, they're going to do that sometimes." As a businessman, Phil has to meet his clients' demands, he is just another employee at Burnell Inc. meeting headlines and selling projects to put food on the table because he's a blue-collar worker. At the same time, Phil is a guy who has a dream job, is his own boss, does things his own way and people are jealous that he gets to be paid for playing videogames. If both statements sound retarded and contradicting, it's because they are, but it's also the way Phil thinks.

That whole "I can only play what makes money because I'm running a business" cope is just part of Phil's mature adult LARP. When he talks about putting a product for his audience, he means playing videogames for literal retards; when he talks about new projects, he means getting a LEGO set and building it on stream. He has to convince himself that this is the case, otherwise he's just a retard in his 40s playing videogames all day in his piss-stained jammies for 10 dents and 300 people who laugh at him because he relies on one person to have the illusion of being successful. He wants to treat streaming like he's running a restaurant or a hotel where he has to adjust his services to his customers, but he also wants to brag that he's successful because of himself and not the games, otherwise they take the credit he feels he deserves.

It's like someone said a few pages ago, Phil doesn't change his old narrative when selling a new one.
You call him poor and then he'll brag about how well he's doing and how he wasted +10k on equipment he's either not using or using poorly, but if you say he's made enough money for the day he'll remind you that his business can die if he has one bad week.
You say he only plays popular games and then he says he can play whatever he wants, but also he can't play anything but what's popular.

Oh he does. He still makes his cringe-inducing AVGN bootleg act whenever he complains about games and developers and he still tries to imitate Kino Casino's aggressive begging but with none of the energy (I won't even call it charisma because they're grating). Everything Phil does now is copied from somewhere else, he is just so lazy he can't even bother to do it right.
