Unpopular Opinions about TV

Up until the season ending in Sheldon pulling out a ring, Big Bang Theory was enjoyable. However, now it is utter garbage.

Supernatural is dull as fucking spoons and is too focused on Teh Gay Shipz than actually being a good show.

If a television show begins with a different plot every episode/monster of the day/etc., it should continue to use that format throughout the entire series. Continuity is fine, but if major plots start extending over multiple episodes, it's time to end it. Don't start with a format that you cannot continue; if you run out of ideas, your show is over. cough GRIMM cough

Always Sunny in Philadelphia is seriously overrated.

I really like MTV's True Life.

Stuff like Supernatural and The X Files always worked better as freak of the weeks. The writers were neither talented nor ambitious enough to create and maintain a continuous narrative.

Big Bang was always garbage.
That's why I posted in the "unpopular" thread man

I started watching X Files but was smoking pretty heavily at the time and it always ruined my buzz. Plus I knew that the lead actor was a sex addict so his sweet demeanor was spoilt for me.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season 2 wasn't that funny and the show definitely peaked in its first season.
YES. I spent so much fucking time waiting for season 2 and it sucked.

The X-files meta arc started out pretty interesting but then it became clear the writers planned either half or twice the seasons they got.

-I don't get the appeal of The Eric Andre Show. Is this shitposting? Is it stoner humor? I don't understand what's happening and I also don't understand how he keeps getting renewed but they couldn't give fucking Metalocalypse an ending.

-Also regarding Adult Swim and "alternative comedy", Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell was better when it had Claude as a foil to Gary. It's still decent but it's just not as fun anymore without his character. I'm kinda hoping he comes back as the magnificent bastard he is if the show gets another season.

-...also, re: the devil, Lucifer is only popular because it attracts the female demographic who all wanna schlick it to the hot Satan. It's a mediocre show otherwise, fucking fight me.

This exactly.
Neil Gaiman has been whoring out literally anything he has the rights to, quality be damned.
I'm really concerned about the BBC adaptation of Good Omens coming up.

-I never saw the appeal of American Horror Story, I found it over the top.

-I love Rick and Morty, but I found the first season to be a little boring. I can't rewatch but a couple episodes from it.

-I hate Sherlock, it's super boring and the fandom honestly ruined it for me.

-I don't know if anyone actually shares this opinion but I'm gonna post it here anyway. Sense8 SUCKS, it's an SJW's wet dream with all pansexual characters and a transwoman who won't shut up about being trans and oppressed.

Lucifer is really good when it focuses on the Biblical elements. Just for some reason they matched it up with the most formulaic and by-the-numbers police procedural drama backdrop I've ever seen.

I keep meaning to start watching AHS but never get around to it. But since now one of the showrunners has announced the new season is gonna be about the 2016 election I think I'm just gonna pass on it entirely.

Funny, all I hear from my friends who watch it is how hot Lucifer is, how much they want to fuck him, and how much they love he's a canon bisexual, apparently. You would never have convinced me that there was anything resembling a Biblical "plot" as a result.

That being said, I'm also sick of Biblical shit and that's partly why I am super hyped for the American Gods adaption. Just for a change of goddamn pace.

See, I love it BECAUSE it's over the top. It's a horror show that almost never takes itself seriously. That's how you get a deranged ventriloquist veteran with PTSD murdering someone by literally sawing them in half ala magic trick. A nun possessed by Satan getting off to an old movie full of Christians being fed to lions while there's an X-Files esque Nazi alien conspiracy going on at the same time. An old racist trying to kill a voodoo queen with Benadryl.

If there was ever a point AHS was supposed to be taken seriously I'd love to hear it.

...that being said, the 2016 election comment is probably just Murphy reacting out of pissiness. I have doubts that's the actual theme. If it is, though, I'm watching just to see how much of a debacle it'll be.

I never liked Mulder and Scully as a couple. I don't feel that they should have ever went in that direction. It ruined the dynamic between the two characters. I wanted them to grow closer as friends and partners and learn to understand each other better. Platonically. I felt that the romance was shoehorned in to get ratings out of shippers and casual fans who might watch just to see the "will" of will they or won't they.

I've never watched orange is the new black because from what I've read and seen pics of, it looks like the nastiest show on television.

I have seen it and it's pretty hard to watch at some points. I only watched the first few episodes and I don't care to continue.

Is this actually an unpopular opinion? I always thought the whole basis of the show was this not-quite-platonic relationship that could never be resolved. So putting them in bed together completely ruined the show instantly. It's harder to think of a more obvious shark jump than the actual Happy Days episode with the original shark jump.

Sheldon is clearly a Kinsey level infinity sperm guzzling gay guy, why didn't they just give him a boyfriend or reveal his fiancee is actually packing a giant pecker?
