Genshin Impact

Aside from maybe WuWa, Genshin still doesn't have any legitimate competition that would force Hoyo to innovate with this game.
Hoyo is going to learn the hard way what happens when they don't have competition and actively fucks with their playerbase. Take a look at War Thunder and World of Tanks developers Gaijin Entertainment and Wargaming respectively. This is the path Genshin is dragging itself into.

Well nevermind, they already did it with Honkai Impact 3rd so the writing was already in the wall.

2: Kinich (Ajaw abuse, borrowing fraction of weird imprisoned spirit's power, grappling hook. basic tree tribe type shit aside from ajaw existing)

5: WALL SKATER
I dislike Ajaw due to how annoying he is, won't stop talking, if playing as Kinich in combat. I've said this before, the lore for Ajaw as projection is "nonsense" (physical interaction with Ajaw).
Wall skater. Because for whatever the reason, the Name engraving technique, smithing or checking its quality requires doing it on a giant rock with Phlogiston. From her story quest.

Chasca gun. Technically, few Natlan NPCs or enemies (Hydro and Cryo) have a cannon and slinger as their weapon. A gun isn't that far off and flying for most 5* Anemo characters so far. Riding like a horse, well they have visible alpacas in Natlans. But I'm being weird that I'm more okay with her flying gun than Mav's bike. Idk, maybe if Mav's bike was fully hoverbike (like Megaman X) rather wheels since there are few hover ancient enemies in Natlan and old ancient tech.

I'm not sure how much sharing and visiting from Fontaine people to Natlan through out the years. But I guess it's good enough for like Mualani talking about sea creatures in magazine to Kachina. And a Melusine in Natlan.

Mavuikas bike too, by the way.
At first I thought it was just reverse engineered stuff but yeah found out it's made by the same person that made the flying gun while playing tonight. At least it's more believable than the flying gun IMO.

Yeah that makes sense actually. Forgot to bring up the weird loose fontaine connection. There's a story quest I just played actually that literally has guys from fontaine investigating the history of some ruins only for the guy in charge of the expedition turning out to be a fucking petty dumbass piece of shit that decided because he managed to make something similar to ancient dye from natlan and wasn't the first one to do it that he was going to destroy the oldest historical evidence of it to claim he was the first one to make it. Stupid bitch just sell the easy to produce dye and use the fact it's similar to the hard to come by natlan dye as your fucking sales pitch.

He physically interacts with a number of characters, and we see him "eating" food at one point. I think it's less a hologram type projection and literally a weird little 2d physical weird little creature that's manifested via that. They've shown him get locked in a wooden crate more than once as a gag and I remember some of the promo animations showcased him with a drink or a coin at one point.

I'm actually ok with ajaw constantly talking, just wish he had a bit more lines when not in scripted cutscenes. He's like a much better version of what paimon's supposed to be in terms of "small annoying flying thing companion" because while paimon's like just talking about money or food and does shitty things sometimes based on those urges, ajaws just like straight up a fucking menace. I think I said that, and also this this before, but his personality and appearance in a 3d space kind of reminds me of paper mario characters. Wouldn't be surprised if that was partly an inspiration given how much other stuff in this game seems to pull from nintendo inspiration wise.

Went into arlechino banner with zero pity, i had exactly 160 rolls worth of gems saved so i was sure i could get her

+160 rolls
+Thousands of rosarias (was already c6)
+2 lions roar, 1 flute, 1 painslasher 1 fav sword (only good weapon there)
+both lanyan and crevruse are still stuck at c4
+GUESS WHO I LOSE 50/50 TO?? DILUC AGAIN! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

-Arle is currently lvl 85 with 8/8/2 talents jade spear gladiator with 2383 atk 84/149 ratio and 152 ER (i only get ER when the character doesnt need it). It might be copium but will have to do for now.
-Arle only came around the 160.

Well then I didn't expect the Chronicled Wish to run concurrently with everything else. I think I'm gonna Yolo for Xiao and maybe Childe and use my guarantee on Chlorinde.

And Astra Yaos banner starts today too. Jesus Christ.

I managed to save up 12k polys for Astra, but considering how horrible it's been going with MHY, they might not be enough.

New qol stuff announced for 5.4.
Resin count will appear on more screens so it's easier to find.
In-game build guide will detail how many of each item are necessary to reach max ascension along with a tracker.
Domains will now list loot in descending quality.
Quick weapon refining.

Decided to start hoarding for Lopera since Anjo Nala is running the entire patch anyways. Speaking of which, I don't think this week's Mane's Bulletin is as custom made for her as last week's

It was custom to go against her. I had some issues but still managed to scrape through.

I actually had 14k polys, and it was enough for both Astra and her W-Engine.

Pretty good UI update overall, less navigating around and less hassle to remember "how much" or "which is which".
But this one for 5.5 is the bigger hype though. Two out of five potential upgrades are guaranteed into player wanted sub stats with Elixir,

Typical Genshin luck, losing 50/50 at 76 pity to Jean C3, 50 rolls left. At least I manage to C6 Chevy, better healing overall. C4 English wording is a bit off, it's more exactly allowing her to firing a total of 3 E.skill (before goes on cooldown) after her E burst. Sadly, the additional 2 usages of E skill doesn't give more healing on top together nor refreshing healing timer (I need to test the latter with higher HP units). However, if Chevy uses Noblesse, shooting additional E skill just wastes Noblesse buff timer. It also does not generate extra particles with additional E.skill shots, so her C4 is underwhelming.

Then my ZZZ gacha, 300 rolls left. I'm skipping her W-engine, saving for Evelynn and her W-engine.

You need her ATK up to 3400 to maximized her buff. Playstyle is a bit weird, basically in her singing mode, you are restricted to swap between only the two chars beside her if the Quick Assist pop up. It consumes her energy to give ATK buff for 20 sec to entire team (longer than most support) and still kinda aligning with her drive disc set 15 secods Damage buff for each swap.
If you want to swap back to her (for her ult), kinda have to press swapping like twice in those moments. Overall, she feels more suitable for disorder comp since players can utilize swapping back and forward more frequent. But I'd say it's more like having a buff on all the time for everyone like Caesar. Unlike Nicole, Soukaku and Rina.
It's nice that they have Eve playable during the new quest. Eve's full energy Ex-skill is very good, it can group up enemies, automatically dodge and instant fill one charge for her special mechanic.

1.6 leaks, Hugo with a scythe. All I can say ZZZ really likes to put "edgy" design on Ice characters.

...I agree about the flying railgun being ridiculous though.
ironically that bothers me the least.

main issue is simply everybody draws the line somewhere else and you have to hope the devs in chars stick to their own line. all the fontaine stuff for example can be explained with "fantasy antimatter", same way natlan is "magic lava", on paper you could even explain a bmw i5 ("I saw it in a dream") to make it canon so redditors can say "it's in the lore, duh", but that's far beyond most people's suspension of disbelief.

Well then I didn't expect the Chronicled Wish to run concurrently with everything else. I think I'm gonna Yolo for Xiao and maybe Childe and use my guarantee on Chlorinde.
check if the pity is still chronicled only, iirc that was one of the biggest complains of the last one, basically running it like the weapon banner that only shows every blue moon

2 out of 5, where the other two stats will still go into flat HP/DEF....

considering the fuck all sources for this shit on top of being paywalled there's zero reason to be this fucking stingy. even if they'd allow to make the perfect artifact per patch, you still need 20 PER TEAM. no one is gonna quit once he's "finished" after one and a half years.

It's still chronicled only, and the lost 50/50 point still won't carry over.

Starting to really dislike the Natlan bullshit, those new abyss enemies in Ochkanatlan fucking suck to fight unless you got that special natlan shit which shreds their shields quickly. Only a little bit more and I'll have 100% exploration and I'll never have to set foot there again.

Natlan relies on the Nightsoul mechanic so much, it went from being a neat gimmick to an active irritation, at least imo. Enemies and bosses need you to use Nightsoul so much it becomes a massive pain if you don't have it on your team.

Fontaine also had the Pneuma/Ousia gimmick, but aside from exploration puzzles it wasn't mandatory, plus there were usually sources to get Pneuma/Ousia nearby if you didn't have a Fontaine character. Even the dancing robot couple boss didn't stonewall you if you weren't using the gimmick, and that thing appeared in so many abyss cycles.

I've gone through almost all of the exploration for that area I think? could be wrong but I know it'snot 100% and I don't know what I'm missing. Anyways IIRC from what i experienced before I realized the natlan characters's stuff took the enemies down faster was I just ground them into a pulp with elemental reactions though I can't remember the specific ones right now. They were still tanky.

I agree though they are a bit of a pain in the ass to fight, almost reliant on triggering their stunned state to kill them. I do like their mechanic though of being able to copy other enemies' moves, though.

I wanted to fight the boss in the ocean tribe area, and not only does that fucker require nightsoul to do damage in between his stunned phases, but to put him into his stunned phase you need a goddamn transport mechanic to climb the rocks he makes. Goddammit, I don't have any Natlan characters outside of Kachina, and I don't have her usable yet. It's such a pain in the ass to deal with.

The fucking thing is made solely for kachina and the other rock tribe one which bothers me immensely as well. HOWEVER I have cheesed it and grinded the shit out of the boss by putting a character that can make the climbable geo structures in my party and hopping up those to attack the things to stun it. There's probably a few other ways to cheese it butit pisses me off just about as much as a few other world bosses reliant on an extremely specific character mechanic.

fwiw you can use pyro mc now.

if they had it pushed more people would've complained even more I assume, since the trigger is on a 10 second timer (if not longer in depending if it's tied to the skill or NA combo), so for proper counter/flipping elements you'd need several fontaine chars, in the right color too.

still, beats the usual powercreep in numbers you used to get imho

that's why the first thing I do with every char is push it 80 with at least 6/6/6 talents and some trash artifacts for HP. plus it beats doing the fucking artifact grind for fucking months...

I'm conflicted.

I want to pull for Astra Yao because I could use another Ether character, but I also want to save up for Evelyn because she's really beautiful.
