Shit, just crack open a book on Christian history, and you'll get a story that's far more complex than A Song of Ice and Fire.
Tbf, the current day meanings of "conservative" and "liberal" within the american perspective have been stretched harder than Mr. Fantastic nowadays. Given that the idea of "I don't want to be a drug-addicted degen living in a small apartment with 5 others, I want a normal family with a wife and kids" is being considered by many to be a "conservative idea".

Your typical conservative idolizes the Confederate South and its "States' Rights" attitude; they would be horrified by Heinlein's centralized military state if it ever came into being in real life. Not to mention that most conservatives wish to preserve civilization as much as possible and value religion, whereas Conan doesn't give a fuck about civilization and barely gives a fuck about religion. Neither Heinlein's world nor Conan's can appeal to conservatives. The former peddles the idea that a military nanny-state is a good thing, the latter idolizes a hero who sees civilization as unnatural and religion as a joke. "Fridging" is a lazy-ass trope of killing a female character just for shock value. That's not a sex thing, that's just a "writers are lazy" thing, and given how bad comic writing got in the 90s and 2000s, yes, there were a lot of lazy comic tropes, and "fridging" a female love interest for a male superhero was one of them. It goes to show that the author has nothing to do with a character they wanted you to think was important, so they killed her off to generate cheap shock value.
