When my autopay failed (not a mortgage payment, I’m not a junkie retard) I got a text notification with the “Please call” link at the bottom. The bank also didn’t cancel my autopay arrangements because I called them to sort it out. Once again, Little Ricky Rackets the Junkie leaves out important details so he can play victim.

You don't get a foreclosure and a scheduled auction at the courthouse by just missing one payment by mistake or due to an autopay problem.

Its a process that takes months and a process where you are given ways to fix the issue at every single step along the way. They contact you by phone. They send you endless letters. You have a grace period on late payments in most cases. There is a time window of many weeks before they can initiate a foreclosure.

The way you get to the position Nick was in is you stop making any payments to your mortgage for months and refuse to negotiate with the mortgage holder to solve the problem.

The reason someone who is not making their mortgage payments and is selling off another property to pay off that mortgage is that they lack the income to make the mortgage payments.

As far as the state intervening, there is no evidence that the state froze his bank accounts or did anything financially to him whatsoever.

Even by Nick's low standard, these are really stupid lies.

Any reputable financial institution would inform you because they want to get paid, understandably, and they know you (probably) want to continue paying.

When he says that they won't let you re-establish autopay, that's usually in regards to using the same source to fulfill the autopay because if that account has failed before, they don't want to attach it to an account which could fail again. Even then, there's sometimes a process they can undergo on their end to remove whatever flag is preventing that same account from being used for autopay.

Nick could always open a new checking account either with the same bank or a new bank. Should the bank which controls the mortgage still refuse this, he can setup the sending bank with an automated billpay to pay the mortgage from their end automatically. Billpay sometimes takes an addition number of days to post to the mortgage, depending on the bank sending the billpay, but he could set it up to pay a few days earlier in the billing cycle so that it always clears in-time.

Essentially, he has no excuse.
