Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

Can't wait for all the armless brain damaged whatever this is called riders, you know since most motorcycle accidents are people losing traction and falling over.
The real problem is the more gadgets and extensions you ad to a motorbike to make it more car-like? The closer you get to that price point where people reason "I'm already 2/3rds of the way to a car, but only getting 1/4th or so the utility of a car. I'll just save some more and get an actual car"

It's fundamentally why every micro-car ever has never worked out long-term.

Entitled cyclist posts a video of her swearing at cars safely passing her to a bad driving subreddit, gets dunked on by the comments, then runs to /r/fuckcars to cry:

No, you were going 15 under.

I hate when cyclists are smug about catching a driver at a red light. If they weren't held up behind you, they would have made the light. You're only traveling at the same speed as them because you slowed them down.

The circlejerking here is absolutely insane. She IS slowing everyone down otherwise she would get run over.

Road Guy Rob's latest vid pointing out some of the stock cyclist talking points are bullshit is pretty funny lol
I can't wait for the loser urbanists to start screeching about it, the public comment bit was particularly funny when it showed soyboy and dangerhairs as trying to keep the lanes and normal looking people against it xD
The final design of that street is the same as the one showcased a few pages ago where the NYC cyclist hit the kid running home from the school bus. It’s incredibly unsafe because cyclists are not looking for pedestrians crossing their “bike highway”.

The original “car lane-bike lane-parking-sidewalk” layout is safer for everyone and allows customers and deliveries to access the businesses, but cycling activists will never accept that because they may have to *gasp* occasionally change lanes or wait when someone is pulled over.

Also, the center running bike lane is technically a “stroad” because it tries to be both a high speed road (for bikes) and a slow shopping street. Not that there’s anything wrong with “stroads”, but I find it hilarious that cycling activists who rail against them are demanding a bike version of one.

An interesting tidbit I took from this is in the numbers. Early in the video a daily cyclist count of 3,500 through this bike lane is noted. At the very end of the video Rob throws up a bunch of different statistics from the middle bike lane experiment, one of which stood out to me:
Untitled.png

That means 15% of bikes don't obey red lights. 15% of 3,500 is 525. That means once every 2-3 minutes a cyclist is blowing through a red light, just on this street. You do not hate cyclists enough.

Archive in case he's pressured to change it (Preservetube still isn't working):

Figured it was a matter of time before they took notice of the most recent Elon moment. Whole sub is full of it now but here are some highlights.

They make Elon sound so based when he's just a bumbling retard grifter. I almost want to buy a Tesla just to spite them, and I hate Teslas.

Saw this in my feed, and as someone who dailies a pickup it’s funny that people in the city seethe at the sight of them. I don’t even drive like an asshole like the stereotypical truck driver. But even if you don’t drive like a dick they still hate you.
Honestly driving a pickup truck in the city has made me less afraid of driving a big vehicle in the city, and better at parallel parking smaller cars.
Also, UMMM CHUDS, CITIES ARE GOOD ACTUALLY

It sort of reminds me of how some creatures die out evolutionary or are forced to change because they just aren't as effective or efficient compared to another creature. Like why wolves are encouraged to become giant in cold climates. There are more upsides to being big than small in that environment.

Similarly a car is just, well... better at being a personal transport vehicle. If the price is similar or the difference is minimal people will gravitate toward the better option. Even a basic Ford Fusion for $2500 offers so many more advantages that it doesn't make sense to purchase some sort of middle alternative like that BMW prototype enclosed bike thing.

Just like how nature encourages things to become crabs through carcinization, vehicle design will inevitably tend toward becoming cars as the natural conclusion.

look at 1920s and 30s luxury cars, they look like modern full size suvs.

Since they're going hard with the "Elmo Nazi" jokes, have they shittalked Chinese EVs too? Or are those immune to criticism, for obvious reasons, even though they're worse than even the worst Tesla lemon cars?

Also, UMMM CHUDS, CITIES ARE GOOD ACTUALLY
It's not just the wording of "X is good, actually", it's always the fact that whatever they're shilling is something a) usually recognized as negative by anyone with a working brain and b) is never presented as an opinion.

This isn't like arguing that sardines are good on pizza because they provide that salty, umami flavor that pizza needs*, it would be that sardines NEED to go on pizza and if you don't do it you are a PLEB with ZERO TASTE and worse than DONALD TRUMP/HITLER/PUTIN.

* This is a theoretical argument presented in a "devil's advocate" matter I am neither endorsing or advocating for such a thing.

There's a lot of large cars that were rolled out over the years, even a cursory glance at old newspapers and other publications show many SUV-like cars. The "nothing like SUVs until the 1970s or 1980s" that NJB et. al. have pushed is either a willful lie or complete ignorance at the history of automobile design in the last 100 years.
