We have two rival factions: Republicans and Democrats. They hate each other, and tensions have been rising for decades. All sorts of assaults, violence and venom being spat at both sides.

In the first Civil War, a key problem was the one of Free States vs. Slave States. If Trump annexes Canada and/or Greenland, making new states, do those states tolerate or eradicate illegal immigrant labor?

We have a controversial president who was involved with the wrestling industry. He is determined to preserve the Union and solve the slave problem, but not for the slaves' sake. He was shot in the head. Trump is Lincoln 2.0.

We have people talking about illegal secession(Calexit, Western States Pact, New England Independence Movement).

The only silver lining is that we know the New Confederacy has to lose and with it, the Democrat Party.

Annexing Canada is just him trolling, or I hope it is. If Canadians suddenly become Americans guess which political party wins forever?

I agree otherwise, I've been saying for a long time the future of this country is balkanization, there are simply too many irreconcilable differences between the parties and things keep getting more and more volatile. The only question is how much will people actually care if Civil War 2 happens, people are much more comfortable these days than in the 1860s.

They might also not have the cognitive ability to understand merit in the first place. You need to ask yourself questions in order for these thoughts to occur to you. I've seen some of these people get tutored and something you'll often notice is a near-total lack of critical thought.

There was an assignment where a black girl was asked to write about cultural appropriation, and one of the requirements was to touch on why a particular white musician might want to mimic aspects of black music and fashion.

She was unable to understand the question. She knew it was "bad" and that it was "oppression", because that's what she'd been told, but was totally unable to put herself in another's mind.

It seemed as though she was un-used to synthesizing her own answers; she was trying to find the answer in memory, as though it must be one fact out of an explicit list of facts she'd been given.

There are many, many people in the world—of all races—with little to no capacity for serious reflection or analysis. Illiteracy makes this worse, and a lot of America isn't fully literate.

Illiterates don't dissect the foundations of their beliefs, and this is because those beliefs are mnemonicially encoded—analysis would threaten all knowledge. These aren't typically people who ask questions in the same way that we do.

A lot of simple people believe horrible things with absolutely no malice, and it's because they're just doing their best by memorizing slogans given to them by people who are supposed to be helping.
