I missed the first half hour of the show or so, so I compared the weekly leaderboard to yesterday's closing numbers and the difference* was slight at best. They just shouted out a couple superchats ($50 and $7) and if any others came in this whole time, I was AFK. The last Cambian stream was also very dono light. Last time, Ashton expressed an apathy towards the show's sub count because he made plenty on the Phil show earlier in the day. He did pretty good in the first 90 minutes of Phil's show today, but the latter 90 minutes were very lackluster in terms of audience support. I legitimately don't know the endgame any more, because the streams aren't entertaining, they aren't making much money and the few moments the diehard casino fans like (making Steve awkwardly react to deep sektur lore) are absolutely drowned out by the elevator music of dialogue that dominates the rest of the show. I legitimately don't know the endgame from any point of view. It made a modicum of sense a few weeks ago, but now it really doesn't. The only thing they're getting is a show on their show count with no effort/work needed on their end. Other than that, I legitimately can't see an upside from any perspective.

Added in edit: Minutes after I typed this, Cambian referenced a "Gabe Zaufman" (sic?) which highly amused Ashton, Andy and the chat, but Steve was visibly unamused and continued his thought with "but anyways....." There's been several of these moments on this show. Apparently it is spelled "Zeifman" so I don't know why Steve pronounced it that way.

Steve's first appearance was a lot of primary footage of people talking about bizarre sexual encounters, being cannibalized and reincarnating in a new body, weird shit about urinating in a bathtub and a bunch of real batshit stuff that the audience ate up and Ashton and Andy were both doing the "NO WAY DUDE!!!" thing. It might not have been the height of entertainment to everyone, but it had energy. The information dumps since then read more like Wikipedia articles and the result is what you see before you. Steve was a bangup guest once (maybe twice if you want to be generous), but every stream since has been very much like the one that is currently going on. This is why I don't see the endgame. Even the short term goal of putting a show on the docket is very underwhelming. They really don't mix. A and A are looking to entertain, Steve is looking to inform. But the synthesis is not there.

This, amongst other things, are why I find Steve interesting as a person, even though his subject matter is not my cup of tea.

He understands that his role is to present his presentation on Alogging and Debunking Bob Lazar then listen to whatever Sector stuff Andy and PPP want to present until he decides it's time for him to leave.

They were very disrespectful of Steve's time today. If you are going to have a guest then they should be the priority of the show. Constant interruptions and disregarding of their opinion are not how you form a streamer ecosystem. And they disregarded Steve to stream snipe? They aways talk about how stream sniping sucks. This is obviously something you should clip up. They even took his camera off the screen and replaced it with Rekieta's. I hope Steve doesn't come back and just leaves them hanging.

Best I can tell, the only thing they accomplished tonight was turning a 2 day show break into a 1 day show break and circumvented the criticism of "What happened to the Wednesday show you promised?" The fans are upset about yet another broken promise on a MWF schedule, so they placated the fans by having Steve do all the work while they just coasted off his efforts.

When his camera was off screen I thought it was because he left cause I had made the mistake of assuming they'd have the decency to not arbitrarily remove his facecam.

Wow, I'm glad I didn't watch then. And I agree, he shouldn't come back if they were that rude. The last couple of times they had him on it was very obvious they were uninterested and PPP was being incredibly disrespectful to him literally out of nowhere during his last appearance. Credit to him for not losing his cool I guess. If that had been me, I would be pretty pissed.
