I just find it funny, because it shows how much of a complete nothingburger of a complaint they have. He's burning through campaign promises and supporting elements like crazy, which has already lead to verifiable material action (App shut down, flags pulled, DEI in gov being killed, foreign aid cut) on those promises, and the best retort they can find is "But the eggs". It convinces absolutely nobody, and just looks like copium to someone who's not already trump deranged. This isn't even a "Well he can't change them that quick" counter and more than "Well yea he's not even looking at the eggs right now, he's deporting criminals".

Also your "simpler explanation" displays MLK as a static negative figure rather than a complete person who went through shit and had dark/immoral moments in his life. I think knowing the factors behind MLK's life kind of make his famous speech even that much more hard hitting knowing shit that happened in the guy's life.
Honestly seeing MLK as a person instead of a symbol would probably do a lot more to help than harm. Issue is when people these days decide it's bad to view someone as a symbol they usually just turn them into a negative/bad symbol rather than actually taking time to piece together the man behind the words.
