What's the most annoying thing a friend (or friends) of yours ever did?

Preference for IRL friends.

Friends usually think they're helping or that things are cool when they're not or sometimes just don't read the room right. These experiences aren't usually friendship-ruining but just times you wished you weren't in the same room as them.

Try to tell the stories without too much self-identifying info or "powerleveling."

To give you a better idea, here's a few of mine:

I knew this one kid in school who was a retard in the literal sense--mentally disabled, talked weird, slow to pick up on things, would act out in ways that embarrassed everyone, had to be convinced to bathe... I have no idea why we hung with him at all.

Worst thing he did, someone had stolen my lunchbox and I was talking about it and explained my suspect and reasoning... then we happened to cross the kid I was talking about. I wanted to play it cool and just ask, but retard ran ahead and literally barked accusations and that started things on the wrong foot.

Earlier that same day, in lunch, retard friend saw this fat kid, and started laughing, POINTED AT THE FAT KID and joked "maybe he stole it because he was hungry!" like... it felt like half the lunchroom saw and heard that.

This involved a different friend.

So I was getting into this "edgy teen" phase where I wanted to be a master shoplifter. My dad took me and my friend to some sort of museum, and I stole a pencil from the museum gift shop.

On the car drive home, my friend keeps wanting to talk about it.. while my dad is in the front seat, HEARING EVERYTHING. I tried to whisper to him that dad would hear, and he would just say "it's just a pencil!"

Here's the thing: apparently my friend's parents were very cool with a lot of stuff, like they wouldn't get bent out of shape out of their kid stealing a pencil if the kid wasn't caught. The problem is my friend didn't realize that this isn't normal parent behavior and that most parents (such as mine) were basically the Morality Police and would not only give me a lecture, they would hold this over my head for years to come. It was basically like having someone in the back seat who kept loudly saying "so when are we gonna kidnap the president?"

Thankfully, my dad never understood the context of our conversation. Later on, my friend actually got to see what my dad was like and then he understood my attitude that day. It's now just something we laugh about.

Incidentally, I later felt bad about stealing that pencil, so next time I visited that museum I bought a pencil but left enough money to cover two pencils, and left before getting my change.

Does anyone else have stories like this?

There was this guy I was close with online for a while when I was a teen who used to go on autistic schizophrenic qanon rants. He was the kind of guy that Hollywood Hulk Hogan wants to make out anyone vaguely right of center as. Insufferable and the result of Alabaman inbreeding. Had a fallout with him later on because he would get into long winded retarded arguments about absolutely tiny details and things that don't matter.

Drugs, i'm not adverse to drugs but in moderation at the right occasion. Getting a pay-cheque is not a celebratory occasion to do blow, in-fact it's probably the biggest indication that you should slow down or stop, but maybe that's just me being a "buzzkill".

Last I heard he got fired for showing up to work all fucked up after a binge, so maybe he was right to celebrate his pay-cheques

Threaten suicide.
The BattleTech community has this one faggot named Derv who does this at least three times a week, usually after chimping out at someone he disagrees with in a BattleTech discord server and getting banned for his trouble.

Had a super skinny, adderalled up, hispanic bpd friend 7th-9th grade who would say she’s gonna commit suicide when I got too mean to her (usually it was making fun of whatever witchy bullshit she was into)and would keep me on the phone for hours. My mom eventually got tired of me being so sad and stressed out and forced me to call her parents and tell them. She dropped me after that and then got kicked out of school for lying about living in the district anyway lol. Who would’ve expected that these days she’s pooned out. Thanks mom good advice

Had a friend in middle school who was a huge compulsive liar. I called her out on it all the time and in an effort to stop her I started calling it out in public. I got really good at telling when people were lying because of it. It was always really stupid shit, like lying about liking a show, or being left handed because I'm left handed and she thought it would give her the attention she wanted. I literally made up an entire show in my head and talked about it for a month, and she said it was her favorite show and she watched it all the time. Just to give you an idea of how much of a macadamia this bitch was. After the month was over I told her I made the whole thing up just to see how much of an attention whore she could be and it made her cry.

Eventually I just stopped hanging out with her and ignored her, she moved schools at some point after 8th grade. She tried to off herself in high school apparently. Just looked her up and now she's really fucking fat and has a semicolon tattoo on her fat forearm. I wanted to feel bad for her but histrionics are too pathetic to sympathize with, for me. I just can't imagine needing everyone to love me all the time. What a wasted life.

This is making me feel weird about calling my own friends "annoying."

Mine just nearly got me beat up/got me lectured by my parents. You guys sound like you had friends with actual fucking issues.

Me and my friend would shoot each other with an air softs. So he thought he could take random pot shots at my brothers friends. So I had to drop him for the blatant school shooter behavior.

When I was really little, I went to a sleepover with a bunch of friends. I had nightmares that night, and my friends saw me tossing and turning in my sleeping bag, so they decided to toss an open tube of toothpaste in there with me. Which is hilarious in theory, but in reality I woke up with burning eyes and a ruined sleeping bag.

I had this one "friend" (Mom's acquaintance's daughter) who often needed computer help, like installing/uninstalling software, or printing documents, or burning CDs, and when the computer would be busy with some lengthy process, she's sneak by and cancel the print job, delete the file, take out the CD, etc. We nicknamed her "Cancel" (the English word).

Also, as we were sitting at the table, or otherwise in full view of the adults, she'd ask me to explain sex jokes she'd heard on the radio. "Why would he suggest to rub her nipples?" (I never told her sex jokes and didn't listen to the radio.)

She married a canuck and emigrated. Have fun, Canada.

HPD girl who would constantly pick fights with me over not liking someone terrible because I was "being negative". We're talking pedophiles and serial cheaters. I had proof of this and she dismissed it because "they're nice to her". She also got my 5 year old runescape account banned because she reported me for calling someone a faggot.

Also anyone who does drugs, mainly coke/weed/psychedelics.
