Federal districts are based on census data, and the next census isn't until 2030, so probably not.
It's already anticipated that California will lose several House seats and electoral votes, before this. Just from population shift away from the California shithole. But now that a huge chunk of the most populous city is burning down? How long did it take for the neighborhoods involved in the Watts Riots and resulting fires to fully recover? 30+ years?

Yea, the damage caused by these fires will take forever to repair, not just because of the extensive amount of damage but because of California’s gay permitting system that keeps houses from being built.

This also ensures that California will never be able to mitigate the homelessness problem is has. California’s Triple H program to build rooms for the homeless cost $1.2 billion and took seven years to finally get off the ground. Clearly, that program has been offset over a 1000x by the fires, and now more people are homeless in Los Angeles and have to still pay off their mortgages for their cinder of a home.

California is running on a massive budget deficit. They can’t fix any of these issues, at least without every other state and every other taxpayer paying for the fuckups of California’s politicians.

Border 2 fire near San Diego is spreading crazy fast. (again, according to watchduty!)

If anyone here lives in/close to San Diego you should be alert and ready for anything! If you have family or friends there, make sure they know.

Reports/estimates from 13 hours ago seem to indicate it was at around 800 acres. Now it is at above 5000. 10% containment.

I doubt the Democrats are accepting those terms easily.
I doubt what they want matters at this juncture. Lets also keep in mind Biden was President for the entire duration of the fires up to literally 48 hours ago. And its Trump that has actually shown up. I'm really curious to see the outcome of the upcoming conference. This will be a critical test of Trumps new term, as he is going into what is essentially the domain of his enemies to show them that he is their ruler too. Trump's decision to be gracious to Newsom was the correct decision. But I imagine that graciousness is very conditional.

It doesn't look as bad as it did yesterday.
The wind reversed at some point this morning so everything you can see from the bay is burning back on itself. On the back side of the mountain the fire has blown through the line they had along the Minnewawa Trail and the contingency retardant lines behind it. So now there's 4 more evac orders to the east.
We're supposed to get rain over the weekend too.
Rain is the only thing that's going to slow the tempo of fires getting out of hand. Hopefully it starts out gentle enough burn scars don't start slides.
