I absolutely hate this video. Imagine spending all this time researching a European sado-massochistic pedophile ring only to censor out a majority of the script.

I find it pretty despicable that this guy very obviously attempts to monetize such an awful tragedy. You don't just censor out a majority of your script for the sake of posterity. You just don't.

Not only that, the guy he keeps presenting as the hero "busting open a pedophile network", Marcel Vervloesem, was convicted multiple times in the late 70's and 80's for the sexual abuse of children. This was way before all of this happened. These convictions were never disputed by the people he worked with on the case that is mentioned in this YouTube video, and any account of a government conspiracy against him doesn't tell this part of the story for some weird fucking reason.

Now, you can make a case around that it was a government conspiracy against Marcel Vervloesem when it happened again in 2008 when he got convicted again for sexual abuse of minors, and producing child pornography (including multiple allegations from the people he worked with and his own family, what leaves me to believe he just did it again and he wasn't set up, there are some vague stories that those allegations were recanted but they were never officially filed with the courts), but nigga, Marcel Vervloesem was a true and honest pedo himself.

He also lazily mentions that the ISP who were hosting the website of the group working on busting this pedophile ring was "mysteriously taken down" because the ISP was government owned and it was a "conspiracy", but he leaves out that at that time this ISP just shut down their homepage hosting server, and every website that was hosted on it (that shitty 10MB of space you got back in the days with every dial-up internet account, on a weird URL based off of your dial-up username) was taken offline at that point. Their entire research was hosted on shitty free webhosting space included with a dial-up Internet account. Incredibly sloppy research which he could have confirmed by just actually looking into it.

Leaving stuff like that out is just incredibly dishonest and gay. There was a lot of suspicious shit happening in this case, but just leaving out that the pedo he presents as a hero was convicted for child rape before any of this happened is incredibly dishonest, and calls into question every other bit of "research" this fat slob did on the video. This fat faggot barely did any research, or he just ignored the things that might take his entire story into question.

Late as fuck but has Vol. 5 of Mandela been discussed yet? I just saw Wendigoon's video reacting to it. And while it's nice technically the writing is a bit confusing and all over the place. Kister says it was the intention to make it seem "nightmarish", but I do believe that he had no other choice but to cut parts off it due to the BPD girlfriend event which made some people jump ship from the project. It's also a bit awkward to see Wendi pretending to be soooo heckin scared of the things going on. Kane released two more videos in this series, the first one Graveyard just confirms that the odd landscape and railroad crossing are literal, I remember seeing some people speculate that they were metaphorical or the closest approximations that the game designer could make to what was described in Saywell's journal. But no, it seems to be replicated to a t, which is very odd since although the game was made in 2005, the events happened in Saywell's life time, and he was an older gentleman when this all happened to him. Not to mention the 'overgrown man' who told him to come along first met Saywell when he was a young boy.
There's also some odd random stuff like Saywell being a human computer, which is a interesting profession to bring up since they guy in the server room indicated he was spying on peoples thoughts.

In the second video there's even more odd stuff like a suicide well with "For visual use only" written on a sign above it, solar panels, a sewer monster that's heard but unseen, and the first visual appearance of this "overgrown man," named the Shepherd by one of the NPCs. The player fails to collect all three items due to getting sidetracked, so this time instead of being chased by the railroad sign the Shepherd comes after him once night hits, he's in the first video as well at 16:42 off in the distance when the player looks back while being chased by the railroad sign.

I'm of this opinion too, not just because of oversaturation, but because no one seems to make their attempts at it genuinely faithful to the technology of the time it's supposedly from. For example, a lot of EAS scenarios nowadays have oddly 'fuzzy' audio that's just a mess of mumbling, which makes it a chore to listen through. This is completely unlike recordings from the 1990's and 2000's of the EBS/EAS in action (and these are very easy to find, thanks to the EAS community eagerly archiving stuff and hunting for rare activations), which show that the audio source used to convey the message is clearly audible and not a complete mess.

This reminds me of when indie devs make yet another platformer with "retro/pixelart" graphics without understanding WHY that aesthetic is how it is.

I've seen devs admitting they do that because they're actually too damn lazy to make "good" pixelart that would fit the actual time period. For fucks sake, some of the best "it could've came from that time" looking games are a bunch of janky as fuck anime porn games under the "Succubus" series that were originally made in Japan and sort of ported to the West.
