I really doubt Trump is going to do anything to gay marriage/rights. Pushing back against the TQIA+ shit has been everyone's main focus. I don't see many people being hated or targeted for being homo/bisexual these days beyond an internet slur or a pastor yelling on a sidewalk into thin air at no one in particular. There wouldn't be a lot to gain from removing gay marriage anyway because gays will continue to be gay, just sad they can't make it official on paper anymore (for the non-grindr manwhores at least).

Honestly, its not so much as having a gay character that annoys me in T.V shows, movies, etc, its the bizarre fetishization that gets annoying. I dont care if someone wants to ship some characters in a same sex ship, but there's no reason why gay ships completely dominate a fandom even when a character is canonically straight. Then you have people arguing about characters battling "heteronormatively" (a bullshit term) and that they are queer coded. Again, this shouldn't be that common in fandoms unless its a show that actually focuses on gay people. A large majority of people should be shipping straight ships not gay ones but seeing it as the opposite just proves to me the social contagion with glorifying gay ships to prove to people how "progressive" you are.

Idk, I do think there is merit to questioning taking hormonal birth control as a sort of "one solution fits all" (like when it's prescribed for acne or just menstrual pain instead of as actual birth control). There is a book about this called "This is Your Brain on Birth Control", but it's more about how those hormones can affect you mentally. This is anecdotal, but I know from other women who did say they felt massively different after getting off the pill.
