Unlike the US, El Salvador could actually benefit from a large influx of unskilled noncriminal migrants who speak Spanish and have south American backgrounds. He can grow his own economy and put people from neighboring countries to work for them, which if he does it well, makes him look great to neighboring South American countries who will then start migrating to El Salvador. El Salvador has a lot more room to grow in terms of development and their economy actually could benefit from having more unskilled workers poured into it, so if these people were the hardworking upstanding immigrants the left insisted they are, El Salvador will gain economic prowess in the region. I imagine he is also anticipating that Trump's encouragement of Bitcoin development will benefit him and his country's economy.
