I'm laughing my ass off that the Oblivion remake was, once again, a complete dud.

It feels like people have been falling for this for like...three years now? When did that leak first happen?
There are still people coping about this too. "It's right around the corner guys! Inhale It's about to be announced, any day now! Inhale wheeze."
The funniest thing is you kiddos think skyblivion or skywind will actually be like the originals.
Hate to break it to you, they won't, they're in skyrims engine using Skyrim mechanics. You'll be playing Skyrim with a Morrowind/oblivion aesthetic, maybe a few extra spells but that's it.
Fucking hell I've said this so many times by now (probably not on this thread but definitely /tesg/) but it never gets through. If you want to play Morrowind and Oblivion, play fucking Morrwind and Oblivion! Hell I'd rather someone demake Skyrim in Morrowind's engine, least we'd have the worst (well maybe not worse than Arena, and I liked Arena too) Elder Scrolls game made better by being in the best Elder Scrolls game. And yes I know about the actual Skyrim (continent) mod already made.

With the idea of Skyrim in Morrowind, has anyone made Morrowind text boxes for Skyrim? I imagine they'd be possible since they're on the same engine, I think that someone extremely autistic would be able to redo the main quest and others without need of voice acting.

Has anyone here watched Zaric Zhakson's "What if Skyrim was good" series? I found it quite interesting to watch. His recent content is a bit weird since he uses a VTuber model sometimes.

Which I'm cool with, for Oblivion. Mechanically it's the worst of the three, it just needs to add back (I think) easy things attributes and a few spells.

Zaric is an OG. His past videos on Nexus Modding forum drama are hilarious. He's interviewed the Tamriel Rebuilt/Project Tamriel modders too a while ago.
He's also the guy who started the meme of Emil Faggylello's talk in Copenhagen. The dude used to write for MUDs back in the day and the only reason he streams or makes videos is to pay for more video games.

The fact we got daggerfall unity and morrowind is 5 mods away from being plenty playable is nuts to me. "Noo I have to wait 18 years for an oblivion game to remake morrowind!..." why? Hell even seeing Morrowind in ESO was delightful however shit that game is. TES content is limited, why care for mods and remakes if you haven't even exhausted at least the 3 primary entries?

Reminder that Elder Scrolls Legends goes offline in a few days, if anyone wants to try it out before it's gone this is the time.

I remember when the development for a Elder Scrolls card game was soft revealed cuz they chimped out at Mojang for developing a card game called "Scrolls" 2011. It was funny cuz Notch challeneged Bethesda to a 3v3 quake match to determine who had to back down . Looking it up now they managed to finish it in 2018, presumably because Notch wasn't leading the project, then immediately closed the servers.

Fun little saga from almost 14 years ago now. I'm gonna kill myself

I vaguely remember this, not the Quake challenge but the lolsuit. I'd bet that back then, there were at least three capital G Gamers employed at Bethesda that could have put up a good showing, Now, besides maybe Todd, I doubt anyone there has even heard of Quake, let alone played any.

It's funny that both of those companies are under Microsoft now. Massive conglomerates have eaten almost everything in sight.

Frankly, I don‘t see the point of your argument.
Of course it won‘t be like the originals. But in many ways it will feel very close to it and very different from Skyrim (quests, voice acting, inventory, attributes) while improving on some glaring weaknesses of the original, mostly level design (can only speak for Skyblivon). It won‘t have the weird goofy vibe OG Oblivion had since that‘s just tied to its engine and those sweet sweet potato faces. But that doesn‘t mean it can‘t be a great experience for old players to reexplore the (slightly reimagined) game.

Oblivion is just pure unintentional humor

I fear any remake version will be niggerlicious towards the modding community. The absolute MELTDOWN with people when the Skyrim Legendary Edition dropped and they seemed to have deliberately tweaked stuff to make a shitload of mods just immediately crash.

What if Skyrim was good
I certainly enjoyed it, while we all have different ideas and tastes I do agree with many parts of his video. My boy has been in the Elder Scrolls game for years, if anyone has at least decent opinions (though I wager most of them are pretty good and thought-provoking) it's him.

That I did not know, any particular MUDs that stand out?

There's a guy on YouTube name cc9cii that has been messing around with loading other Bethesda games in OpenMW for 8 years now. It's obviously nowhere near playable but it's still interesting.

I will say though, definitely 1:1 Skyrim-while impressive-should be a bit more (especially in the cut lore). Making The Voice insane, Sky Whales maybe, the good stuff from the Pocket Guide to The Empire - Skyrim. Also speaking of "lore accurate:" 1738031264307.png
Average Skybaby, "Elder Scrolls doesn't have books? I only played Skyrim and can't look up 'Elder Scrolls lore' in my search engine." The guy's a weeb and a commie btw judging from his Plebbit account, in other news water makes things wet. Oh and some chink is taking up the "hot mods" on Nexus.

Every now and then I reinstall skyrim with no mods but the unofficial patch and it's still a great time. Most quests I recall like fever dreams but shit like housing, kids and most of the DLC I've never really touched. I 100%'d the original skyrim days before Special Ed dropped. Should go back and 100% that.. I do dislike how TES rewards spamming a spell to support a playstyle whereas Fallout you can do whatever as you level up and pump points into the playstyle you wanna end up using, not the one you currently use, cause early game stealth is dogshit.
