It's true you don't need their latest and greatest, but again who can compete with Nvidia, even their gaming gpus that are 2-3 years old now, on AI anyways? They still have the market anyways, and unless AMD steps back up to bat they'll have it for years. Good that it's becoming easier to run LLMs on shittier hardware and getting decent enough results, that said.
