KOEI Games

Do you think the game is worth picking up? I haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game in ages.
Seconded; unless if you really have that musou itch wait for a discount, but it's probably the best musou game since the DW5/SW2 era. Koei actually tried with this one and it seems to have paid off massively for them, so hopefully they'll keep going in this direction (and at least throw bones to people who aren't fujos).

Didn't they make those shitty Dynasty Warriors games?
If you're asking about the company, yes, Koei makes Dynasty Warriors and its various spinoffs (collectively referred to by the Japanese title of Musou). If you're asking about whether the people who have made Origins made what are considered to be the bad Dynasty Warriors titles (6-9, though many people cut 8 slack), the same division of Koei has made them but there's been shifts in the the people making up the teams over the past fifteen years that Musou has gone downhill.

I remember playing one back on the PS2 and I never cared for it. I am saying they are all shitty.

i've got like 100% missions and have beat all 3 factions, and i'm max ranked.
I completely stopped listening to any dialog scenes.
I feel like i've played other musou games i enjoyed more than this one. I think the engine on this one is nice and game play feels good, but because it feels like a reboot (i completely didn't look into it at all) it feels like it just has less than other musou games have as far as content goes.
If any one likes musou games, i recommend waiting till its like $30 or less and skipping all the dialog that is in the bonded scenes and only paying attention to dialog in the main storyline.

Unless you're literally a gay boi

Finished WEI route. Chi BI was a pretty cool stage even knowing you about to get fucked. Sucks you cant stop the fire attack form happening like in older titles. The last stage were you retreat is fucking great. The enemy throws everything they have at you and constantly have to fight off officer after officer. The final streech were you forced to rush a full army with you and a handfull of officer was kino. It looks impossible at first but you slowly chip away at the enemy, refusing to give up and then you break their moral to the point the entire army starts falling apart. The duel with Guan Yu was awesome but i hated how fast he recovered his shields during his mousu rage, forcing me to enter my mousu rage just to bring him down.

Have to take a break form the game for a bit but i will return and do the WU route.

I also notice Zhange He dosent have a friendship route and he is no longer the flamboyant homo we all came to know and love. Pretty funny seeing him straight as an arrow while everyone else want Zulians cock.

When i was younger, i thought "wait, i died!? that's bullshit!" but looking at it now, i find this ending beautiful in a way. A warrior making his last stand and everyone shiting their pants. Even the enemy commander could not deny you were the coolest guy in the land.

Also, having Masamune Date say IMBECILL everytime he opens his mouth.

SW1 had the best version of Osaka prior to Spirit of Sanada. It's one of the few times in these games you really feel the 1v1000 dynamic Koei wanted to capture.

"But my Lord... Who should ally with?"
“Allies? IMBECILES! WE CRUSH THE BOTH!"

Back to Yukimura's death slide, it really was the first time I could say that I "lost" in a game, but could really appreciate the beauty and depth of it. Just that smile of relief before his body just gave out hit me hard, especially being a teen back then. I've said before that Hanzo was (and honesty still is) my favorite of that game and with his ending I remember trying so freaking hard to see his face when he finally took his mask off after killing Yukimura. They really had a great dark vs light vibe

SW2 with the baffling decision to use a bunch of Canadian unknowns is still odd to me. Some of them were fine but most were very miscast.

SW2 was fun but wow many many overused stages. I can only take so much of Kawanakajima, Sekigahara, village rescue, and Osaka Castle/Bay. Loved Anegawa, Honnoji, Edo Castle, and Shizugatake stages though. The dream stages were also funny. Also Kotaro, Tadakatsu, Yukimura, etc were everywhere. Everywhere.
