This is just the market correcting itself, as the last two years have been investors gaslighting themselves that anything with Ai slapped on it was bound to make money if they just threw enough money at it.

Personally I think there was significantly more Chinese government involvement than publicly disclosed, and this was their way to preempt the Trump administration and pop the AI bubble (and also get revenge for Tiktok/Trump reaming them in his first term).

I'll do you one better. I have hang ups about government enacted death penalties. Why don't we go back to letting people protect their property rights with deadly force? Do it Israeli style and just let the land owners shoot anyone rattling their fence. The state derives it's power from the people, so if the government can kill them, so can the people they derive their power from. I know its a nit-picky lolbert take but the government is retarded and I don't love the idea of them being the decide on who gets the DP and who doesn't. They don't exactly have a track record of fairness, and at least an angry mob of civilians parallels a democratic process.
Unlike many other countries, America has very few laws on what you can call food. So some asshole can buy frozen meat from some no-name slaughterhouse and pass it off as ‘wagyu’ or whatever.
They are very, very capable of copying and then iterating on what they've cloned very quickly. China's use of western education has also changed their mentalities quite a bit, and they've no doubt adopted a lot of new ways of thinking and creating. The China of today is not just the Chinesium production country of yesteryear. They have their own space station, they make their own robots at a greater pace than us, and they're even venturing into advanced warplane production. It's insane how quickly they've picked up the pace.
