Everyone is a faggot in this new drama, but Linus is an ultra-faggot because he's Linus.
He treats Steve from GamersNexus like an actual certified journalist and not just a rando citizen investigating shit.
I read a YouTube comment calling him out for this, and it makes a lot of sense.
Steve is not bound by ethical restraints or a code of honor, and if his investigation would be compromised when contacting Linus for comments (right to respond), then there's no way in hell that he's obliged to do so.
Linus just wanted Steve to DM him in order to bullshit his way out of this in private. Very Nick Rekieta-like.

Linus also pulled up the journalistic ethics from The BBC website, which doesn't extend past their own opinions of what is good practice.
This code of conduct is made up BY THEM, and means nothing on a global scale.

Linus is a disingenuous faggot about the whole ad blocking = piracy thing anyway (shocking for him, I know)

There is nothing stopping you running ad blocking in its various forms like a browser extension or something like a Pihole for DNS level blocking on your entire network to protect your data while still supporting creators, if you truly feel they deserve your shekels. The faggot of a leaf should know this better than anyone, considering he offers a variety of ways to pay him, like his store, direct donation or even his own video platform designed for supporting him directly, Floatplane. This isn't counting all the in video ads that he includes too, which despite his kvetching must not be blocked by enough people to make it non viable for companies to drop 60k on a sponsorship in the first place.

Most Youtubers also offer things like Patreon or similar, direct donations like PayPal and super chats on their live streams too, so it's not like there aren't options if you aren't LTT size. There are ways to bypass Google taking a cut of your donation shekels too (streamelements)

And if you dont care about the google cut + don’t want to really do anything extra google themselves offer their membership system for channels that are already built into YT.

I’d definitely say LTT from the last 5-ish years or so is closer to Mr. Beast’s style of “I spent a ton of money on this one thing, come watch it” than teaching anyone anything about tech or even doing an accurate review. So I think it’s fair to call his audience tech illiterate

You are probably giving him to much credit, I think his core audience is young folks who are new to the PC Master race..... And the majority of that group use Android (or would if their parents didn't pay for their iPhone). Like with everything Linus is doing the profit math, if he hates on apple he gets a boost with the majority of his audience..... who may engage with the video/share the video/spend at the store...all things that make him money. Additionally Apple fans have to defend Apple so.... Immediate and frequent engagement on the video from them as well.

Tbh I think it's a cultural thing, a majority of people (especially outside of the US) sees Apple products as vapid and a waste of money (especially because they're even more expensive in other countries). Not to mention the advertising campaigns portraying Apple consoomers as hipsters and PC users as boring nerds.
Combined with their systems offering a very limited amount of control, you got yourself a recipe for every young techbro hating them like Twilight in 2010.

Fun fact: Linus has a decent following in China and even gets fansubbed on bilibili, in Asian countries you have an even bigger class gap and Apple's market share there is around 14%
The main reason for his bias though is that he grew up as a techbro in Canada in the late 90s/early 2000s

If nothing else this shows what a tech illiterate retard he is, Android gives you the option. It might be in slightly different locations in the settings menu depending on which manufacturer you are using, but it's there.
